Hungee Neutral Newbie August 17, 2009 Author Share August 17, 2009 63-66K. Price can check at SG carmart.com Thanks for the lead. Din know sgcarmart tracks pricing history. back then when COE was only $8.5K, price is $60k. Now at $13.5k, price (as advertised in papers) is $61,488 for guarantee package. I guess the $60k back in May is before discount.

Sgcarmart pricing is not very accurate and can only be used a rough guage at best.

Toyota Fielder (same engine as Axio but it's a wagon) 1) I realised as this is a new model, not so popular yet although many taxis are using, the spare parts esp body parts may not come cheap since it's rare. 2) Insurance for PI car more expensive than normal car. HengHeng88 Neutral Newbie August 18, 2009 Share August 18, 2009 (edited) Actually price .. just imagine .. apple for apple u need to pay premium for it. Altis and Axio basically performance more or less the same , basically maintance wise more less the same .... insurance is also around the same more or less i paid 53k with COE 7k .. so basically the cost of car is around 46k My dad paid 65k for his altis 1.6 with coe 14k which means the cost of the car is 51k why pay premium my question is .. I'm not unhappy with either axio or altis ... both are affordable comfort cars not meant for speeding.. but my question still remains .. why pay premium ? HengHeng88 Neutral Newbie August 19, 2009 Share August 19, 2009 (edited) If you are gonna drive for ten years .. what is omv? COE , omv is just another form of tax ... free money for garmen .. OMV is just the basic cost of the car .. the rest including taxes and money earned by the dealers.. OMV about the same leh .. mine is 14+k my dad 15k. Frankly speaking , I'm just gonna take driving as a form of transport .. of course if one intends to sell it midway will need to pay attention to its OMV. But speaking of P.I , there are good ones and bad one .. but don't depend too much on their warranties and stuff ... get a good workshop and ask them if they are ABLE service , maintain and repair your car more important.. As for spare pairs the last tiem i check with my workshop .. which does repairs for axios .. spare part quite easily available .. most of the parts all can use G9 My dad's Altis doesn't have reverse cam , foldable mirrors and indicators light , no dvd touch screen set as compare to Axio which i got alot of other stuff included. Of course one can install them outside lah .. but issue is cost at the end of the day .. premiums paid is not worth it lah .. frankly speaking..... For the extra 4~5k i think i can do alot of mods like sound proofing (easily done with 500 if u know how) , ice , strut bars and stuff .. boot light by the way only cost 30 bucks to install .. so it is not like don't have boot light very hard. . LOL .. . it would definately make an axio a much better car using the 5k premium paid. pay 4~5k just for an extra boot light? Altis had a wider body with better leg room space, which is not money can make it for axio, i think it worth the extra bucks, again this depends on individuals
HengHeng88 Neutral Newbie August 19, 2009 Share August 19, 2009 (edited) i haven driven both before .. frankly speaking in terms of leg space.. u won't even notice it .. and 5k can do all sort of aftermarket stablization of the car to make it far more stable than altis... by the way .. wheel base the same width so don't give me the b-------t that altis more stable in turns. . Anyway .. it is just pointless arguements as it would only end up with personal preferences .. not a discussion based on facts .. Those driving Altis would have all sorts of arguements to justify their buys ... likewise Axio .. would do the same .. and when one owns/drives both you choose to block the comments .. what else can i do when i'm being neutral and explaining all those stuff .. Let's take out all those omv and coe .. with 5k more. . one can pay for 1.8l altis or 1.8 axio in japan .. in singapore the difference is not so big due to omv's and coes .. But what i mean is if one is not fussy and wants a simple and comfortable toyota car with price slightly cheaper .. you can consider axio .. IT IS not a better car .. just only a newer model as compared to G9 altis .. if one has a comparision on 1.8l altis and 1.8 axio(not many pi have) .. axio pawns altis all the way .. don't believe .. go check it out urself.. Windchoco 1st Gear August 19, 2009 Share August 19, 2009 Is the soundproofing for Altis better than Axio? It would seem so.. ↡ Advertisement
