Thank you for the sharing.

This is a very good message to everyone of us. My heart stopped for awhile after watching the video.

Living in Singapore is really a big compromise to family ties. Time and material needs is always not enough in Singapore because we are focused so much on career and money.

Nice that you guys enjoyed it too, I found the underlying message very apt. Money & the pursuit of it is definitely impt. But there are things money just cannot replace...............

conclusion is--> must have kids and have a family?

not must have kids n family la. it shows that no use being so succesful in your career when u don even hv time to spend wif ur family...be it ur wife, kids or parents. our parents looked after us for so many yrs, helping us along the way till we achieve success in life. but wat do we do in return? we get so bz that we hv no time to spend wif our parents.

parents r always happy when their kids remember them. it shows that we do not forget them n wat they hv done to us. it's the least we can do...n hopefully when our kids r grown up, we ourselves r not forgotten.

so...the next time u plan on going on a holiday or going somewhere, see if u can include ur parents in the plans.

In singapore context, very often the married children will be so busy chasing money just to break even. Just see how expensive our public housing is now. Seems like very often, the only times they see their parents is when they wanna collect their toddlers after a day's of hardwork.

What quality of life are we talking about?

Quality of life in Singapore? I don't even talk about it, probably never even think about it.

This is the place to earn money only.

Wanna live well with family and all, best retire to another place.

everyone has a choice not to keep up with the Joneses. Everyone has a choice to lead a different sort of life. It all boils down to personal choice, even if migrate to other countries, the same issues will pop up again: focus more on family or on career? Am i going to spend the next hour working or playing with my kid?

even if u migrate to a "paradise land", there will still be choices to be made, since everyone only has 24 hours. U might need to choose between "massage by island girls" or "build sandcastles with my kid". LOL

Think about it.

Thats becos singaporeans (many in MCF) are too caught up to drive the latest & more flashy cars & stay in condos.

very good videos that are posted here.

as i am sitting in my office, this has really got me thinking.

if only we can live in a more gracious society with more smiling faces.

if only we can live in a society with more welfare and compassion and not everything is money or rather the lac of it.

if only when we see strangers working or living in the same building, we smile and say a simple good morning or hello.

if only we are not socially engineered to let everyone think that our heart are made of stone.

sadly, this is singapore. where we are lacking in the emotional quotient department and evolution of emotional development.

sigh.
