Othello Supersonic September 3, 2009 Author Share September 3, 2009 (edited) thing is -> do we need all these extras ? If I buy a 150K car, then yes ! for that amt I'm paying, it better be well spec man. but a 1.6 seadan should be the base model (bread N Butter car). More important is the ride and safety of the car. For starters, I can certainly do w/o GPS & electric seats. Its good to have these extras if the other cars in the same price bracket dun have them. I'm sure HA knows that EURO is strong, that all these extras will prop up the OMV. oh well, its their call. Fortress Clutched September 3, 2009 Share September 3, 2009 Thanks, bro. It confirmed my thoughts that the Superb would have been a better buy than the Octy. But then it was not available then. How's life in His work. Am writing my journey with him. Hope you can guide me along.
Fortress Clutched September 3, 2009 Share September 3, 2009 You are absolutely right, it is how they should have pitched/pegged the car against. I have always perceived that Skoda is a cheaper version of a VW, which is incorrect. Anyway, how the baby....should be a toddler now.
Othello Supersonic September 3, 2009 Author Share September 3, 2009 std reply .... skoda's name has been battered for so long liao. I feel they should try to instill consumer confidence. For eg. giving a std 3 yr warranty (minimum) and actually honoring them ! or give people the option to buy extended warranty cum servicing package. This will give consumers confidence as the support is generally untested to this new batch yet.
Fortress Clutched September 3, 2009 Share September 3, 2009 Guess there are some decision to be make, I guess. To do that you need to have a good quality cars that last that period and doing just enough to make money. In my case, I think, taking tier 2 quality cars, say last you 3 years and hoping that you make money thereafter, is one way of making money too. There are many issues beside these for the AD to solve. It is like a vicious cycle that they didn't, cannot, or don't want to change due to various reasons including resource. I feel, the first thing they need to address is image, which you are spot on.

Othello Supersonic September 6, 2009 Author Share September 6, 2009 (edited) actually some did already. I was at HA 2 weeks ago asking Jaafar about my jammed lock. I could see on his tables there were some SPBs on his vehicle list. Normal servicing still ok lah. Litmus test is when there are problems. Funny that I also saw some VW cars sending their cars there to service. Edited September 6, 2009 by Othello

Maybe it is time to move on to either Italian, which after all said is temprimental as the Skoda, or move on to Japanese, Lexus or Cefiro type....
