  1. I have an upright piano to move to my new house. Do you have any recommendation of a good and reasonable mover.
  2. Hi all, I understand that people do not normally move house during the 7th month Hungry Ghost Festival. What about Qing Ming Jie? Is it advisable to move house during Qing Ming Jie? Also, anyone here can direct me to an affordable and (more importantly) credible person versed in the Tongshu who could advise me on what's a good time to move house based on my Ba-Zi? Thanks!
  3. Asking on behalf of my bro. It happened lately that his car after cold start does not move off. Usually without acceleration cars will lurch forward when we release the brake & move off at a low speed but he's doesn't & have to accelerate to get the car move off. The symptom disappears after driving a distance. What could have gone wrong? His ride is a Picnic, auto
  4. Lately and quite frequently, after parking overnite or long hours, my car don't move when I engaged D gear. But R gear it can move backward. Even with 1 gear it doesn't move. Revving doesn't help. I discovered that with 2 gear, it moves. Then I change to D again, then it OK. What's is happening? My Nissan 8.5 years encounter first time encounter this problem. Last week, also first time, when on air-con, it doesn't work. Noticed fan not turning. After shaking a cable leading to the fan, air-con now ok. TG.

  6. Think this is the 3rd move in history; 1st location was Dempsey Road . . . Central Manpower Base to move to Upper Bukit Timah Road http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/central-manpower-base-move-upper-bukit-timah-road-201409 SINGAPORE - The Depot Road building where hundreds of thousands of young men have been called up for national service (NS) and pre-enlistment screening since 1989, is moving to a new home in Upper Bukit Timah Road. Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said in a Facebook post on Monday that the new Central Manpower Base (CMPB) will sit across upcoming Cashew MRT station, which will be part of the new Downtown Line 2. The new building, which will be a stone's throw away from the Defence Ministry in Gombak Drive, will be "easily accessible to the public", said Dr Ng. "We are also using the opportunity to build more facilities for Mindef staff and visitors," he added. -

  10. Stomper Stunned saw this man lying facedown on a Toyota Altis and clinging desperately to the sides of the car at about 7pm today (Oct 18) along Jalan Jurong Kechil. The Stomper is unsure what sparked the incident but said it seemed like the man was attempting to stop the driver and passenger from moving off. In a phone conversation with Stomp, the Stomper said: "There was some 'drama' along Jalan Jurong Kechil today (Oct 18), sometime at around 7pm. "I was driving along the road just outside the Bukit Timah Community Centre when I saw this man lying on top of the windshield of a Toyota Altis. "He was clinging onto the sides as the car moved along the stretch of road. My friend, who was in my car at that time, took a video of the incident. "The man appeared to be trying to stop the driver and passenger. "The car was going at a speed of about 40km/h. Epic." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/this-urban-jungle/what-happened-man-spotted-clinging-onto-moving-car-at-jalan-jurong-kechil#xtor=CS1-2 what happened ah? mediacorp filming some new drama?!
  11. The recently released Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) Draft Master Plan 2013 is also very much a land transport road map supplementing the and contains a strong two-pronged theme - reclaiming the city from the car, and reducing the need to commute, reported The Straits Times. Uncool IMO. Another bad move by the govt. http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/article.php?AID=9238

  15. This is the contribution to why Singapore having more million and bilionaires household. This may follow with higher inflationally pressure to the locals. Living in Singapore will be contiune to be more and more expensive place to live in. And may result widening income gap
  16. Post Ma Chi: more affordable motor insurance moving forward? You could thus read that again: "(g) any wilful act and/or wilful negligence of yourself or that of your Authorised driver." Thus, the ordinary 1st party insurance policies are NOT meant as coverage for accidents due to speeding, DUI, reckless/ careless driving, accidents caused by shooting red lights etc etc. Perhaps the government could impose a more fluid tax upon insurers such that any amounts in excess of 20 percent earnings (profits) from motor insurance premiums over an up to 3 yrs declaration period should be taxed at 100% annually (tax free for profits below 20%)- and limits upon the management fees for the insurance scheme from exceeding 20% of premiums collected- thus the care by motor insurance companies across the board to ensure minimal unnecessary overhead costs, insured drivers remain careful and that premiums are kept to minimum so as to remain competitive, since drivers too would be able to insurance shop for the lowest rates. Drivers too will drive less recklessly as they know insurance companies to be careful about every cent paid out. Motor insurance being a 'public good' and compulsory by legislation, ought be run on a 'not-for-profit' basis. Likewise, motor insurance SHOULD not promote the dangerous use of cars as private entertainment/ racing machines that illicitly abuse public roads as personal F1-racetracks/ playgrounds. PS: 'Taxes' imposed upon motor insurance companies for profits in excess of 20% of premiums p.a. should be paid to a fund that subsidizes the care, welfare/ employment etc of hit and run victims wherein no insurer can be identified to compensate for such incidents (i.e. not to accrue as profits/ dividends to insurance co. shareholders). The 20% p.a. profit cap/ management fee cap figure is just a suggestion for consideration, it may be adjusted accordingly as necessary. The regulation suggested here to reduce motor insurance premiums is necessary due to the fact that motor insurance, according to the 'Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks and Compensation) Act (CHAPTER 189)' is compulsory; I am however, NOT advocating such regulations for other forms of life/ healthcare/ hospitalization etc insurance insofar that such insurance, unlike motor insurance in Singapore, are not legal necessities.
  17. Loads of information out there. For those who have done it, what is the best way? TIA
  18. There was no video attached here but the footage which I saw on the news a few days ago was really really [sweatdrop] Bros who have toddlers inside your car better belt them up in child seats or restraints and make sure you activated the child lock as well as locking all 4 doors whenever you are on the move. You do not really want your kid to be another road statistic in TP/LTA records... From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...save_child.html Posted on 14 May 2012 Best dad ever -- he puts daughter before his car and even his own life When his four-year-old daughter fell out of his moving car, this man did not hesitate for a second -- he leapt out of his vehicle to save her, leaving his driverless car to smash into a tree. STOMPer minzy said: "This father was really brave to jump out of his car like that. "Especially in the middle of such a huge junction with cars. "I really applaud him, because most people would've panicked in the moment and been frozen."

  23. Just curious, all religion Chinese, Malay , Indians or even free thinker. For Chinese, people move house, some will have some ceremony like Monks coming to the new house for some chanting, or for Taoism , they too have some ceremony. This generation, the young one seems to skip this sort of thing. Am wondering will they just move in like that? As for the Buddhism, Taoism, Muslim, Hindus and Christians, what ceremony will you arrange before moving in to your new house? Have your say........................
