  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAP9bZb5HVA A woman was taken to hospital after a door fell onto her at the carpark lift lobby of Alexandra Central Mall on Sunday evening (Feb 24). Several Stompers alerted Stomp to a video of the incident, which occurred on the fourth floor of the building at around 6.24pm. In the video, a man is seen entering the lift lobby through its doors. A woman then followed behind. As the pair waited for the lift, one door swung shut and came into contact with an adjacent door. This caused the adjacent door to suddenly fall on the woman, who is sent crashing onto the floor. Another man can be seen rushing into the lift lobby and helping the woman's male companion to move the glass off her. The two men then helped the woman to sit up. In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for medical assistance at 321 Alexandra Road at around 6.30pm and conveyed one person to National University Hospital. When Stomp visited Alexandra Central Mall on Tuesday (Feb 26) at around 5.40pm, the affected door had been removed. Warning signs had also been put up. Stomp has reached out to Alexandra Central Mall for comment. https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/door-falls-onto-woman-at-carpark-lift-lobby-of-alexandra-central-mall hope she is not seriously injured
  2. Hi to who may concern. I recently hittied a car while reversing (with scratches on front bumper) and I was unable to write down my contacts details to the driver as I do not have any pens and paper with me. I want to do ask what should i do about it??? Im right now in fear and distraught, not sure what to do and hope to have a best course of action. Willing to pay for his car damages but hopefully he dun report to the police and my car rental company. But may i know if for ny case what should i do? Well im deeply sorry for the lost and i hope to settle it privately. As im penniless and having finical difficulty in every way. No full time job only doing uber as my part time. Please help me in this matter as to how to contact the driver. But may I ask if i can could pay for his repairs by monthly installment or something like that? As I dun earn a lot just by doing uber. But if he decided to claim against insurance is it by my car rental company? I know that Im in a deep shit. Since he can report to police on this case. But i would like to be off record to be on a clean shit to settle this between the driver and me.

  4. Stomper Stunned saw this man lying facedown on a Toyota Altis and clinging desperately to the sides of the car at about 7pm today (Oct 18) along Jalan Jurong Kechil. The Stomper is unsure what sparked the incident but said it seemed like the man was attempting to stop the driver and passenger from moving off. In a phone conversation with Stomp, the Stomper said: "There was some 'drama' along Jalan Jurong Kechil today (Oct 18), sometime at around 7pm. "I was driving along the road just outside the Bukit Timah Community Centre when I saw this man lying on top of the windshield of a Toyota Altis. "He was clinging onto the sides as the car moved along the stretch of road. My friend, who was in my car at that time, took a video of the incident. "The man appeared to be trying to stop the driver and passenger. "The car was going at a speed of about 40km/h. Epic." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/this-urban-jungle/what-happened-man-spotted-clinging-onto-moving-car-at-jalan-jurong-kechil#xtor=CS1-2 what happened ah? mediacorp filming some new drama?!
  5. let me state that this is not a bashing nor a "who's fault" thread hor. i was shocked after watching the video and i'm now very consciously aware that not only should i watch out for adults, but also potentially toddlers dashing onto the road. before the usual "it's the stupid kid's fault, he deserve it" comments, i want to say that the little tod don't look more than 3-4 years old, i.e: their behaviour are led more by impulses and stimulus and very little on logic and consequence. for people who don't have personal experience with your own kids, please do some research on child development before you start commenting. this further strengthens my belief that there should be absolute discipline when it comes to roadside behaviour with my kid. hand-holding is a must when walking beside the road, traffic crossing, walking in carpark area.. etc. i do not hesitate to discipline with a smack if basic rules are not followed. i can't help but worry for those toddlers who are given a free rein when walking in areas with moving vehicles.
  6. A tour coach driver who drove his bus onto a pedestrian walkway outside Changi Airport's Terminal 3 on Tuesday has been arrested for drink driving. 7. Just want to share with you all something that fustrate me today. Was delivering TV today. Make my delivery and exiting the HDB carpark which has barrier. Upon exiting, the cashcard reader got detected and the barrier move up. I was about to drive thru when the barrier came down for no reason! It hit my windscreen of the van. Thank god my windscreen didn't crack. I was stunned for awhile, thinking that I am the one knocking the barrier down. but then I realise that it goes up and comes down again. Feel damn pissed off and drive away. Coz there is nobody there and it not my fault at all. 4hrs later, I finish my work and passby that place. The barrier is up again. Same barrier as the one who crashed on my van. It the same because I saw my tyre mark on the barrier. They use a cable tie and a nut to tie it up. Anyone have similar experience with carpark barrier? Feel free to share!
  8. A woman has been hospitalised after she jumped off an expressway flyover yesterday. The woman from Myanmar is believed to be in Singapore to work as a maid. She had run away from a maid agency in Katong Shopping Centre before ending up at the flyover, located at the intersection between the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway, the Pan-Island Expressway and Sims Drive. Witnesses say that she had stood on a flowerbed on the ledge of the flyover with her arms spread, before jumping 4.5m to the road below. She was luckily not run over by any vehicles despite busy traffic at the stretch of road. A taxi has passed by as the woman jumped. The shocked driver pulled over at the road shoulder to notify the police about the incident. The woman was said to have landed partially on a small tree, breaking its branches which appeared to have absorbed the impact of her fall. She landed on the road shoulder and broke her right arm and left leg. She was conscious but in pain when she was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital She is currently in a high dependency ward and confined to bed. Prior to the incident, she was said to have told other maids that she wanted to kill herself but it is unknown why she wanted to do so.

  17. Dear bros, I just changed my car to a Honda Ody. As I'm trading in my current car, I'll be transplanting the current speakers to my brother's car. However, I'm thinking of keeping the sub, but I wonder if it can fit into the car as the boot space is small. Btw, can any bros suggest how to improve the OEM setup that comes with the ody as the Hu is integrated compared to my current car. Thanks in advance.
  18. STOMPer Tony Yeo was driving along Pioneer Road yesterday afternoon (25 July) and was taken aback when he caught sight of these long steel bars that had fallen dangerously across the street. A few people were already at the scene helping but had difficulty shifting the barriers onto the roadside. In an email to STOMP yesterday, Tony also wrote that: "Though the long I-beams fell smack in the middle of the road, there were no injuries as far as I could tell." STOMP has contacted the police and have received an official reply. According to the police, they received a call about noon yesterday (25 July) informing them that steel bars have dropped from a trailer onto the road at the junction of Pioneer Road and Tuas Crescent.
  19. The cats in my area love to jump onto cars at night to sleep, sometimes they also jump on when fighting. The issue is that they leave rather deep scratch marks and these could not be removed...haiz...wonder is there any way to prevent that other than using a dog to guard the car.
