  1. Road works are becoming more of a common occurrence on our roads. This calls for drivers to be more aware of their surroundings, since the road barriers usually cut into a lane, making lanes narrower. Watch this video to find out what happens when a driver lacks such awareness when driving. Watch the video of the dramatic accident here: A Citroen MPV was unaware of the road barriers which were set up on Alexandra Road. The driver then proceeded to ram the barriers at a rather high speed, causing a rather violent 'explosion' of barriers. Worst still, the driver nearly smashed into construction workers who were standing nearby, almost causing a fatality. The dislodged barriers also nearly caused a passing motorcyclist an accident. Luckily, he was quick enough to jam brake, saving him crashing into the barrier. Turns out to be that the the motorcyclist was a really top dude, rushing over to the driver of the Citroen MPV to check if he was alright after tending to his own bike. In a rare moment of positivity on social media, especially on road accident pages, netizens also praised the motorcyclist for checking on the Citroen driver despite his own mishap. Another netizen however, pointed out that the driver of the Citroen might have been distracted by his phone. Please be reminded that using a phone while driving may cause you imprisonment of up to 6 months, a fine of up to $1,000 or both, if found guilty. If anything, let this video be a reminder to all that road conditions do change, and that however familiar we are of certain roads, it is unwise to be complacent or distracted when driving at all times. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAP9bZb5HVA A woman was taken to hospital after a door fell onto her at the carpark lift lobby of Alexandra Central Mall on Sunday evening (Feb 24). Several Stompers alerted Stomp to a video of the incident, which occurred on the fourth floor of the building at around 6.24pm. In the video, a man is seen entering the lift lobby through its doors. A woman then followed behind. As the pair waited for the lift, one door swung shut and came into contact with an adjacent door. This caused the adjacent door to suddenly fall on the woman, who is sent crashing onto the floor. Another man can be seen rushing into the lift lobby and helping the woman's male companion to move the glass off her. The two men then helped the woman to sit up. In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for medical assistance at 321 Alexandra Road at around 6.30pm and conveyed one person to National University Hospital. When Stomp visited Alexandra Central Mall on Tuesday (Feb 26) at around 5.40pm, the affected door had been removed. Warning signs had also been put up. Stomp has reached out to Alexandra Central Mall for comment. https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/door-falls-onto-woman-at-carpark-lift-lobby-of-alexandra-central-mall hope she is not seriously injured

  7. Eight people were injured when two privately run buses crashed head-on late on Thursday night. The accident along Alexandra Road, near an overhead bridge outside the Hewlett-Packard building, also involved a car, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). Among those injured was one of the bus drivers, who suffered leg injuries. The 50-year-old was trapped in his seat until SCDF officers freed him half an hour later using a hydraulic spreader. Went to the Kia showroom to see the launch of the OptimaK5 where it was a very busy day for the Kia sales people and noticed that the Mitsubishi showroom was deserted and there were a few Kia cars in the Mitsubishi showroom. How can that be? What is happening??!! Mitsubishi was at one time my favourite brand but I felt sad that things aren't looking good for them.

  14. was driving to AV to find some accessories and notice that the government is setting up EPR carpark gantry around that place... my first though was that it will sure kill the business there..... so now if we are going to AV for servicing... we will had to pay for the parking fee.... if overnite or accident claim... it maybe in days or weeks... this somehow add on to the cost of servicing or repairing the car... just like that guy whose wife in labour and park the car @ SGH for 2 days and kena a 80+ parking fee charges.... also with the ERP parking... alot will think twice when dropping by those accessory shop or car audio shop to browse.... had not yet talk to my regular workshop regarding the future arrangement but i am expecting to park for the carpark.. frankly.. our car will be inside the workshop when servicing, we did not take up any parking lot in AV.... but we still need to pay for the ERP (cause it was per entry)... not sure whether any other servicing hubs had this kind of practises... fellow forumers care to share experience?

Saw TP there at the scene, seems like car hit tree and verve off into the drain. Front totaled, airbags deployed. 23. For those Swedish meatball lovers who patronize the IKEA Restaurant @ Alexandra Road. Please note that the restaurant will be closed for renovations. Operations will resume as usual on Wednesday, 23th of April 2008. Looks like all the friends of IKEA cardholders will not be entitled free beverages within this period. It's good to be informed or else go there hunting for food then waste $ on parking charges like me.
  24. You all heard the news. Maybe seen her picture. Even 91.3 has an "adult poll" on whether she is worth that much. See her pictures and judge and enter this poll. No prizes. No free nights with her either. BTW, Client No. 1 is Charlie Sheen. When he calls her, he pays USD20k. Governor is Client No. 9 and worth 4k.
