  1. should the agencies have flexibility toward these people? i can't find the old thread on the news few years back
  2. GURGAON, India: Authorities suspect a chunk of ice which landed on a village in India's northern state of Haryana is frozen human waste leaked from an aircraft overhead. According to the BBC, the ball of ice which weighed 10 to 12kg, fell on Fazlipur Badli village last Saturday (Jan 20), startling locals. The Times of India reported that some villagers thought it was a "priceless celestial object" and kept pieces of it in the fridge. Senior official from Gurgaon Vivek Kalia, who inspected the ice ball, told the Times of India: "The heavy mass of ice, which is not associated with any type of rainy weather, suggests there is a possibility it might have fallen as frozen toilet water coming out from some aircraft lavatory. "There are a number of air routes in this area." Kalia also stressed that the projectile was "definitely not a meteorological phenomenon" and has sent it to a forensic lab for further testing. According to the BBC, the frozen human waste that falls off airplane toilets is often called "blue ice", because of the chemicals added to the toilets to reduce odour and break down the waste. Frozen human waste "very occasionally" forms around the overflow outlets for aircraft toilets, before falling to earth, the BBC added. 6. 75K per annum considered high flying banker in London? market must be really really bad sia.... that's barely a bank teller/counter wiper pay in MCF. LOL but to be able to give up everything and live in the wild is really amazing... i doubt i could even last a week.
  7. the next place of interest to visit for fellow mcfers?!?!?!?! any volunteers to organise trip over? lol more from http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/britains-secret-nudist-village-meet-4719872 Spielplatz in Hertfordshire looks like any other sleepy little village, but there's something VERY different about living here VIEW GALLERY At first glance, this sleepy little village looks like any other to be found in the heart of London’s commuter belt. But the manicured lawns and neatly trimmed bushes are hiding a multitude of skin. For this outwardly respectable Hertfordshire village is the home of Britain’s oldest naturist colony. And while you don’t have to be nude to live here – they probably won’t sell you a house if you’re not. Splashing in the swimming pool, mowing the lawn, even enjoying a pint in the local, its inhabitants are always stripped for action. But after 85 years of quietly enforcing its undress code, the secret village of Spielplatz – the name means playground – is about to bare all to the rest of us for the first time. Next month it opens its doors for the first time for a no-shorts-and-all TV documentary for More4. The nudists next door will be exposing to the world what their neighbours, postmen and supermarket delivery drivers get to see every day of the week. But veteran resident Iseult Richardson, 82, who has lived in the village nearly all her life, can’t see what all the fuss is about.
  8. If you are the owner of the Toyota Previa (SFX 30xxE) parked in a parallel lot on 18 October on or about 11am, at the Holland Village MRT carpark, you were kissed at your rear bumper by a Chevrolet Epica (SGX 325xC). If you need the video footage, you can pm me for details. *edit date, I blur sotong*
  9. Looks like we Changi Village will have a massive jam from today to 28th Sept 2014. Bloody Sinktel is having pipe laying road works at the left turn and vehicles can only use the right lane to exit the area. The right lane will be block if any vehicles want to turn right as it's a busy junction, vehicles will be safe to proceed only with right arrow. Was stuck at the area for a good 25mins. Why can't they close the right turn as the U-Turn already is not that far. Good luck to those working at Changi Airfreight, Alps & our Army boys.

  16. Ha..ha.. clone of iPhone to almost everythings are possible in China. Now........ Clone of an entire village of Austria. Yahoo reported : Made in China: an Austrian village HUIZHOU, China (Reuters) - A $940 million Chinese clone of one of Austria's most picturesque villages, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Hallstatt, recently opened its doors to visitors in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong amidst some controversy. In a nation known for its skill in manufacturing knock-offs ranging iPhones to Hermes Birkins, the replica village is perhaps the most ambitious attempt at Chinese reproduction yet. The "Made in China" version of the lakeside European village known for tourism and salt includes an exact replica of its church clock tower, European style wooden houses and other properties that will be sold to investors. The project, conceived by a Chinese mining tycoon, initially sparked outrage and surprise among some Hallstatt villagers, who weren't at first aware of the attempt to copy their unique, centuries-old home. Half an hour's ride away from the gritty city of Huizhou, close to China's "world factory" of the Pearl River Delta, China's Hallstatt hopes to become a new tourist attraction. Disney-themed photo spots are scattered around the village's main plaza, which is modeled after Hallstatt's marketplace. "The moment I stepped into here, I felt I was in Europe," said 22-year-old Zhu Bin, a Huizhou resident. "The security guards wear nice costumes. All the houses are built in European style." Taking up one million square meters (yards), cranes and construction sites spread across barren hills above the gabled houses, promising an expansion of the current town. One day, we will find the entire Orchard Road somewhere in China.....

  20. A 26-year-old Chinese woman's nightmare started five years ago when she was raped by the canteen operator of her school. "He took me to a motel on the pretext of introducing a job to me. Instead, he raped me there," said Chen XiaoLi (not her real name). Since then, Chen had been 'controlled' by the 40-year-old rapist, surnamed Zhang, who threatened to reveal the rape to the public if she went against his commands. Over the past five years, she was always assaulted by the man, who also forced her to go for abortions six times. "I could not retaliate because he said he would kill my whole family if I did that," she told Da He Bao. Chen had been putting up a strong front and kept the sorrow to herself, thinking that everything would be fine as long as she followed his "commands". One January morning, she finally broke down when she saw her nude photographs pasted on the walls, lamp posts and trees in her village in Henan. "I believed he took the photos while I was asleep," she said. "I also believe that he wanted to take revenge and shame me because I attempted to run away from him earlier," she said. She said Zhang had offered her to purchase the photographs for RM50,000 yuan (RM25,000). Failing which, he would post them on the Internet. A villager Li Ziqing said he and Chen's father rushed to "clean up" the village and picked up more than 200 photos. Chen's family lodged a police report on March 9.

  22. was driving to AV to find some accessories and notice that the government is setting up EPR carpark gantry around that place... my first though was that it will sure kill the business there..... so now if we are going to AV for servicing... we will had to pay for the parking fee.... if overnite or accident claim... it maybe in days or weeks... this somehow add on to the cost of servicing or repairing the car... just like that guy whose wife in labour and park the car @ SGH for 2 days and kena a 80+ parking fee charges.... also with the ERP parking... alot will think twice when dropping by those accessory shop or car audio shop to browse.... had not yet talk to my regular workshop regarding the future arrangement but i am expecting to park for the carpark.. frankly.. our car will be inside the workshop when servicing, we did not take up any parking lot in AV.... but we still need to pay for the ERP (cause it was per entry)... not sure whether any other servicing hubs had this kind of practises... fellow forumers care to share experience?
