Workshop will call their own rental company to provide u the courtesy car when u send ur car in.

If you are claiming from your own policy, it depends if your clause state that you can have a replacement car. If not, you have to pay your own. It will usually state the number of days you will be covered and the class of vehicle. It does not cover the entire period of repair. Eg...your repair takes 10 days (Sun & Public Holiday not included) and you are covered for 7 days (sunday and public holidays included)...the difference you have to pay your own. Lastly, you have to go back to the insurance stated workshop.

If you are claiming against 3rd party, the workshop will usually provide you with a replacement car and they claim under loss of use. This one will cover you the entire period while your vehicle is under repair.

If you are not at fault for the accident, the workshop will rent a car for you and help you to claim it back from the other insurer.

Make sure the rental car got proper insurance and also check the excess amount. Some rental car got very high excess. If you very lucky got into accident while driving the rental car, you need to pay the excess.

Nothing in this world is free.

The "free courtesy car" will result in "unknown inflation" in the repair costs.

because C&C provides courtesy car for free i believe

reopening thread.. its my first time kenna accident... need some advice here. [bigcry]

say, if are claiming against 3rd party, if u are driving a C, would C&C arrange to give back a C (and claim insurance together with the repairs)?

i was given conflicting info about replacement cars. some said $50 and rent yourself, and some said a 1.6 jap depend on availability

i don't wanna be taken for a ride by the other party's insurance company if this isn't true. .

i got a 1.6L nissan sunny when my GTR buang.

my advice ... dont be picky ... the more exp a car you "demand", the more insurance costs rises because people are kiasu want the best or equivalent. i can (honest to God) safely say I was fine with a sunny, because it had 4 wheels. it's just for a short period anyway ...

thanks bro for your advice..

doing my homework first before talking to the insurance companies about the repair details, replacement cars and so on in the next couple of days when they have finalized their assessment. [;)]

if this is not the norm, it feels kinda sucky to find out later to have been taken for a ride.. and i wanna avoid that..

most important is not to drag bro ... it sucks to be without your car ... but trust me .. if you drive a sunny or a merc for a week .. will it really make a big impact to your life? i believe it really depends on the cars the workshop has, otherwise, they will rent you a car. if your insurer claiming on your behalf, they will rent a cheap car anyway in case they cant claim ...
