Galantspeedz Turbocharged September 25, 2009 Share September 25, 2009 Anyone has any idea? My car has 6 months to go before 5th birthday. the reason it drops in value is because your car PARF will drop 5%

Kyojin 1st Gear September 25, 2009 Share September 25, 2009 Anyone has any idea? My car has 6 months to go before 5th birthday. two things when the car hits 5 years: 1. PARF rebate drops from 75% to 70% 2. export value drops. foreign market favours cars that are younger than 5 years old. so your car becomes less attractive overseas. export value determines "body value". 6 more months will not make much of a difference to point 2, though. more so for point #1. I intend to keep mine beyond 10 yrs and make it a COE car when the time comes. If you like the car, keep it.

Vinceng Turbocharged September 26, 2009 Share September 26, 2009 I think the main drop in value is due to less demand and lower body price for export market.

Yaloryalor 5th Gear September 26, 2009 Share September 26, 2009 Anyone has any idea? My car has 6 months to go before 5th birthday. Once heard a dealer say that after 5 years old cars, some countries do not allow the importing. Hence, demand is lesser so body price also lesser. ↡ Advertisement
