What do you want to do? There's stuff like Joikuspot to turn your E71 into a wifi hotspot, QReader to turn it into a mini e-book reader, Qik to do live internet video broadcasts, etc

Hi bro. how Joiku works is that it essentially forces your E71 to emulate a gateway. An example of a gateway is like your wireless router. In this case, other devices that are wifi capable see your E71 as a wireless hotspot. Meaning if say you got a netbook and you browse wireless network, you can jolly well see your "E71" there.

 

However the E71 needs to be connected to the Internet still, somehow or rather. And this means that your E71 has got to be connected to the internet via GPRS (3G) or HSDPA (3.5G). So still got to pay hahas.

 

This one is helpful if you got a unlimited mobile broadband plan on your E71 and you have a notebook and stuck in a place with no wireless hotspots. Then, Joiku will come to your rescue.

 

Remember that you gotta download Joikuspot Light so as to get the free version.

LOL It means it turns your phone and data plan into a hotspot. So you or anyone else you want can connect to the internet on say an iphone or a laptop via wifi.

this morning get system error twice .. is it normal ? haven dl the stuff..

 

I remember there is a software where by i dun have to key in the user id and password each time I use hotspots.. u know the name ?

 

sometimes also say no gateway..means the hot spots not available ?? sorry for so many questions early morning haha

I was refering my fone hang when i hit the menu button. So i tot flashing would help.. So how do i do it?

I see... okay firstly you should backup your E71 using Nokia PC Suite. this will allow you to restore your phone to your customised settings after flashing. Remember that flashing will clean your E71 out.

 

Then you should charge up your E71 so that your phone battery is full if it is not. Because if your phone battery conks halfway during the process, highly possible you might end up with a bricked phone.

 

If you have encrypted your MicroSD card, please decrypt it before continuing.

 

Next, you navigate to this url to download nokia software updater

Nokia Software Updater

 

Select E71 and download the file. Latest FW is 300.21.012

 

Shut down all background programs that might interfere with the flashing process e.g. firewall or antivirus programs etc. I recommend that you go offline by manually disabling internet access to your computer in this period of time.

 

Always flash by using USB.

 

After flashing, use PC Suite to restore your E71.

Sorry was away since last thurs. for the GMXT, you have to google it for instructions (cant remember the process). Thats how I got mine done.

 

For the certificate issue, go to the App. Manager, then click on the "options"softkey then "settings". Make sure that "software installation" says "all" instead of "signed"

oh i have solved it 2 days ago.. now i cant get the ntorch to work ? i google it and dl but need password ?? dun know which key to press for flashlight .
