Adrianli Hypersonic October 14, 2009 Share October 14, 2009 we also discussed that point extensively and they are aware of the risks. i think right now to them, the hardest part is telling the truth to the child and the child decides to turn away from them I'm an adopted child. My mum told me the truth when I was in Pri 2. I will always treat her as my natural parent always. Tell the child early instead of keeping it a secret until the child finds out by him/her self. I have never bothered to know my real parents as there is no need to. My current family and relatives treat me and my bro well although they all know we are adopted. Yes, my mum adopted a pair of twins, me and my bro. Sorry, I cant help u on the procedure part as I was adopted in the 70's. The procedure would have changed already. ↡ Advertisement

Darryn Turbocharged October 14, 2009 Share October 14, 2009 I was also adopted, one of three children. We just always knew (I don't remember a time not knowing) Parents will always be parents - to those that think you can only love your "own flesh and blood" andd worried about "bonding" I would say that regardless of whether kid is adopted or your own flesh and blood, you wouldn't be a very good parent so better not to have kids. Noobcar Clutched October 14, 2009 Share October 14, 2009 hi Friends a friend and wife are childless . They have worked out between themselves and decided they want to adopt a child instead. They are upper middle income family and normal people, not sicko bastxxx. They do not want children of foreign countries, only singapore born locals. Does anyone know the procedure and whom to contact ? Thanks in advance ! ** Ps : spare me the song and dance about natural or unnatural or why they discrimination against babies from other countries or how they are going to break the news to the child in future. we had already discussed this topic extensively so i am sure of their mental state before i agreed to walk this journey together with them Is good to get adoption for a child if the couple cant conceive. I even discuss it with my wife before we got married about the idea of adoption and both of us agreed if we can't have a bb of our own we will likely adopt one. Good luck to your friends, cheers
Lukie102 Clutched October 14, 2009 Share October 14, 2009 My friend was adopted. She found out in primary school when she realised she has a different blood group. But she is very close to her adopted parents and they love her a lot.
Comnao 1st Gear October 14, 2009 Author Share October 14, 2009 Folks thanks for your many many opinions and constructive comments i will fwd it on to my friend initially i was a bit hesitating to help this couple bcos i have another friend was adopted. when she found out, she went all over the world to find her natural parents machiam like mission impossible and covered up from her adopted parents that she acknoeldge back the natural parents. subsequently the adopted parents found out and was quite disappointed with her behavior although she still treated both set of parents equally well (at least that what she says)
Kxbc Turbocharged October 15, 2009 Share October 15, 2009 Good on you bro! Me was told when in Pri 1. To me, no difference as the person/s who brought me up are my real parents This one I agree. Don't have to be genetically bonded. As long as the person who raises you treats you well, they are your parents.
