Piyopico Supercharged October 16, 2009 Share October 16, 2009 I am looking at changing my tires (R15), am looking for a tire with good grip during wet weather. any recommendation, hopefully below $100 / piece. Try Goodyear Eagle F1. This is one tyre that performs better in the wet than dry. Should be $100 thereabouts. Actually, very very few tyres will beat this for peformance in the wet. Wide ovals are good for their price, good in the dry and good in the wet. V8 very good in both dry and wet, V12 same as V8. And i drive aggressively and relatively fast all the time. For the price, Firestone can be on par if not better then other brand that is much expansive. I can feel the wheel holding to the floor quite well. Just get Michelin's XM1 since you are newbie driver. Won't go wrong. Price around your budget. A lot of tires offer good grip in the wet, dun really have to buy expensive performance tires. Depending on your driving habit. Most important of all keep a safe distance and slow down when the roads are wet. I have ever witnessed Hankook tyres ripping out before. I even helped this lady change her tyre. She was driving a Hyundai Getz along old LCK road and I was just behind her.
