Ruykava Neutral Newbie November 3, 2010 Share November 3, 2010 You are right, the Kizashi is the pick IF YOU WANT A MORE PERFORMANCE ORIENTED, NIMBLE DRIVE. But as always, it is a balance of priorities... If you want more space, and a more comfort oriented ride, then the Camry beats the Kizashi hands down.... Its a shame that when buying cars we can't have it all I'm just very curious: with just around 180bhp, FWD, and CVT, why is the Kizashi sporty? Is the chasis or steering really that great? Maybe those who have actually driven it can comment? I used to drive LGT (still miss that torque) and now on 159 (damn good looking and nice handling, though it really isn't THAT fast), so this is the ideal size / performance segment for me. Maybe will go down for a test drive to see how it is.... ↡ Advertisement

Toeknee_33 Turbocharged November 3, 2010 Share November 3, 2010 (edited) Nothing wrong with the FWD and 180bhp, but how can a CVT ever be an engaging and sporty drive? Edited November 3, 2010 by Toeknee_33
Civic6228 6th Gear November 4, 2010 Share November 4, 2010 Saw one on PIE today .... I am not too impressed with the look. Maybe a good drive cos of the small body and big engine. It may appeal to some drivers ....

Isc10096 1st Gear November 4, 2010 Share November 4, 2010 (edited) Im driving a kizashi now, its an engaging and sporty drive not in the sense of a large CC FI drive (i.e. WRX, EVO etc). But that does not mean the power cannot be felt. A way to describe / differentiate is that power for kizashi comes as a long smooth line as opposed to my previous rides (SH09 XT and Bravo) which I will describe as pulllllllllll lapse, pullllllll lapse. Due to insulation, I did not know the speedometer jumped until I looked at it although I hadn't have a chance to exceed 4k RPM. Body roll when going around corners / bends is also barely noticeable for me and the seat supports me pretty well. (a few bends that I usually go will be clementi avenue 6 from PIE, lornie road to PIE tuas and KJE to BKE towards PIE curve . Three at about 70 - 75km/h)) Looks wise I guess it differs from person to person, some prefer camry / accord, some prefer mazda 6 / mark X / kizashi. I was actually looking at the mazda 6 / mark X too, but went for the kizashi after the test drive as it does show a difference in trim / equipment level / performance for that price. Hope the above provides a bit of help for anyone here considering the kizashi. Edited November 4, 2010 by Isc10096
Dice 3rd Gear November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 Im driving a kizashi, agree with darryn that kizashi's main comparison should be with mazda 6 or 159. very quiet interior, and a good smooth drive so far. hee..i bumped the rims up to 19" once the car rolled out of the warehouse. yo bro, which 19" rims did u get? i saw from researching the web there is a kizashi sport version launched in USA... only exterior changes but has a diff rim from the one locally. Happily1986 5th Gear November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 i saw a silver grey kizashi turning out into commonwealth ave west towards jurong from clementi central. First impression, seems quite rolly polly. doesn't give me the impression that it is surefooted and can corner like it is on rails. lol

For me when I want to chiong, I will swtich to paddle shifts, don't step the paddle in a gradual manner, push it down fast and hard, revs go up pretty fast than change gear with paddle shifts. Kind of helps for me.

I will say the sg trim is everything in the max out trim except 1) sunroof 2) awd 3) the premium sound system. but the one we get is actually 7.1. pretty good bass and sound quality.well..at least to me and my friends.
