In the past, its like, Whatever come...i will do my best (highly motivated)

Currently, its like

whatever I can do, i just do...

Whatever that can't be done...I just leave it..

cos alot of factors are in place...not within my contro

I am happy to do nothing, and I have achieved that!

actually i have been pondering on your posting

it is very true

the hardest thing is do nothing

society does not accept us if we do nothing and bum around

all of our lives we work eat sleep just to make money

seems this is the asian way of life

my ang moh friends really know how to live life

after schooling, go for 1 year break traveling and see the world

their lives seem so full and whole

for us asian we only think of retirement then enjoy but we forget that at 60 now to do mountain climbing, the truth is probably that the mountain climb us

when i was in my teens i could almost everything

but by 20s and 30s realized puncture cannot do like staying out whole night and still can go back to work

most important of all is to make everyday counts

one day lost is lost forever

start being happy each day and try not to be upset by anything

after all you only got one life and cannot turn back the clock

we all in our own small way have accomplished but when we start to compare that is where the problem beings

remember when we were kids one dollar or ten dollars mean so much it is like getting 100million dollars

today, got 100 dollars in pocket is like 1 dollar got to pay this and that

hardly anything left

more importantly i can share with you bros and siss is to invest heavily in things that is most important to you and not something that is only temporary

eg

if you able to buy a masserti or lambo, the joy is short live because after awhile it is just another car to you the shiok factor wears off after awhile

so what is most important

it is only you that knows

be it your family, your religious life, your ambition to learn something etc

Living to other people's expectations and comparing is

the most futile thing to do.

At the end of the day its all vanity and vanity

is the worse thing to have.

I try to stick to lust and gluttony and a lot of sloth.

But its impossible to have all 3 as lust and gluttony can

really be hard work at times. :D

The fisherman story reminds me of my brother in law.

He is an ITE graduate and after finishing his NS, he has only held a part time job for a couple of months. Since then, he would stay at home, sleep, watch tv/movies, go out with some friends from the neighborhood, go church, watch late night soccer at coffee shops. That's pretty much what he does with his life. No upgrading, no job hunt, no household chores, no making himself useful. 5 years have passed since he ORD. He is now 26.

My father in law (55 years old) is giving him a few hundred dollars a month as living expenses. As my brother in law is very big sized and can get violent when provoked, my father in law does not force him to go look for work. They should be considered lower middle class.

What can we do to get him to achieve something with his life? The last time we mentioned that he should be looking for a part time job first, it was in my car. When he got off the car, he slammed my door really hard on purpose..... [rifle]

Frankly, i feel like scolding this leech every time i see him, but as an 'outsider' i think that might not be appropriate.

some ppl r not ambitious therefore u see them settle down in life very quickly.

there r grads who also dont aim high as long as they have a job, w salary increment each yr they are happy.

some ppl get demolised searching for their dream job and given lack of opportunity to promote, they become 'bochap' >> thats me =(
