lastly, to all HDB residents pls don be so goondoo to install a/c in the hall/living rm unless your house got unique design for enclosures, if not u r just trying to cool down the kitchens + outside corridors also. i have many friends who regretted doing this stupid & costly mistakes.

trust me as i'm a technical person.

For 4-rooms, if sizing is done correctly AND you have foldable doors to the kitchen, it won't be an issue.

Most installation I've seen, they have one or two small FCU trying to cool the living room.

What is needed is inverter-type which can support a high capacity FCU. But higher capacity FCU is physically bigger

which some finds it's ugly. Coupled with an oversized FCU in the room, two of these is sufficient to cool the

living room.

Might want to get a second opinion on the pipes from a trusted aircon tech on the suitability on the piping. (Not saying the first is dishonest)

A couple of installers prefer to change the piping due to the fact tat they are also worried abt potential leak from old piping and contamination from previous refrigerant.

Once it was clear no leak, purging was done to ensure no previous refrigerant. And as mentioned, I am taking the risk.

Otherwise I have to rip out the cabinets to re-route the new piping
