The Cadenza is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine boasting 290hp and 338 Nm of torque. The power is passed to the front wheels via a six speed automatic transmission. Performance has been enhanced over the predecessor with an all-new and more compact suspension system and a lower kerb weight of 1575kg. The car will now propel from 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds before hitting a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph). Two more gasoline engines will also be available, including an entry level unit with 165hp.

looks quite impressive. 3.5l haha gonna be a very niche car.

haha. Not to worry though. Got 2.4 version. with 200bhp from next year onwards. Currently the 2.4 "only" has 180bhp.

You know, I have been looking closely at the superb recently. In comparison, the 3.6 litre superb produces about 30 less hp, but more torque (350Nm), and a 6 speed DSG, but boast a century sprint of 6.2 s & top speed of 250km/h, furthermore it's almost 1.7ton in kerb weight. It's not turbocharged (only the 1.8l is). What accounts for this gap in performance? I think the clue is the 350Nm is from 2500-5000 rpm, almost turbo-like performance.

Anyway good effort from kia. If it comes in, hopefully it won't be another stripped down version. This is never gonna be a best seller here anyway, and stripping it down will lower its appeal even more.
