Exercising without a gym

my experience is that as long as my carbs are kept consistently below 20g a day (varies from person to person, what the acceptable level is), I will eventually lose the weight.

Regularly, i stuff my face to the point of explosion, weigh myself and register, lets say, a 1.5kg gain....the very next day, i will drop 1.7kg :)

Whenever i eat too little, my weight-loss stops or stalls....this was until i reached my equilibrium weight of 74kg....now i'm around 73.3kg, but the last 700g of weight loss took really long....more than a month, as my body really has nothing to lose already.

Hopes this helps.

Yup it seems too my body has nothing to lose also already and it now keeps hovering a difference of between 2-3kg before and after a heavy meal. I somehow cannot lose some of the bulk where my thighs area are, that's now the main cause of my weight after shedding off some of my tummy and butt fats.

What's up for dinner later? I might be having half a roast duck and some veges, with a dragonfruit. Tomorrow will be heading to this Warong Nasi Pariaman at north bridge road to da bao a meat feast for lunch [laugh]

Dragonfruit, like most fruits, r full of carbs. If u have nothing to lose then maybe a small piece is ok, otherwise they're not ok. There is proof that fructose (fruit sugar) is more damaging to health than glucose (grain sugar).

Thought so too. But i need it to clear my bowels, otherwise i can be quite contispated. It's a good natural laxative for me personally. I tend to avoid all other fruits now other than an occasional orange once in a long while.

Have always wondered why doctors say fruits are good for your health, guess they do with the vitamins and minerals, but they probably neglected the fructose that comes with it.

Doctors, just like most of everyone else, has been fooled by the US agricultural lobby in promoting the health benefits of fruits. Fruits do have nutrients, probably like less than 10%, around 90% is nothing but water and fructose.

Traditionally, in many diets across the world, people ate fruits as desserts. Imagine now doctors are promoting desserts as the way to good health? How about some ice cream for main course and a tiny shred of meat for dessert? LOL

Never before, have people in industrialized countries consume so much fruits and fruit juice, just look at the large fruit section in NTUC, same size as meat section? So dessert is now as large a portion as the steak LOL look at the obesity levels and chronic diseases.

It's so much easier to grow a fruit tree than grow a cow. The Big Money is there in selling fruits, vegetables and especially fibre. Basically when u buy fibre, u r paying money for something that your body gets nothing out of....pure fibre is 100% undigestible LOL

Human are supposed to grow fruits and vegetables.....and then feed cows, goats, sheep, pigs, duck and chicken with it.....then we eat the animals LOL

my dinner will be some toasted chicken wings , marinated by my mum ...

today lunch had some bee hoon coz mum cooked it so have to eat ....

is it true bee hoon is low carbo ?

beehoon is one of the worst kinds of carbo LOL

Generally, carbohydrates can be divided into lactose (milk sugar), fructose (fruit sugar) and glucose (grain sugar)...and maybe some obscure forms i've never heard of LOL

Much earlier in this thread, i've posted evidence that while all carbohydrates will cause insulin response and make ppl fat and sick, there is evidence that fructose is the worst.

Fruits is fructose. Wheat is fructose. If your beehoon is the kind with yellow wheat noodles.....oops lol

White rice is glucose.....if yours is the kind with white rice noodles, ok u will grow real fat on it, but maybe less sick hahaha

Thanks for the article, will read it tonite. Hmm saturated fats? I know foods like animal fats and butter/coconut oil are good, but i'm taking them moderately. Does dark chocolate with the most minimum amt of sugar count? [:)]

Think bee hoon is made from flour and rice. Once in a while to enjoy is okay especially if your mum is cooking them and you don't want to disappoint her by not eating it, don't take it too often.

Skunk, i'm amazed at how the harmfulness of fructose > grain sugar. All the while from young we have been brought up to whack on the fruits and veges while minimising the consumption of meat and fats for good health. Asians also have this mentality that we have to have rice or noodles as our staple food in every meal. I get queer looks from my frens everytime i dine with them and only ordered meat and veges from chup chai stalls without the rice.

Traditionally, our ancestors work very hard in the fields and carry water from faraway wells and do all kinds of manual labour. They can eat pure sugar everyday and probably not get fat.

But then that's just my guess. Ever seen paintings from Tang Dynasty? That period of time was China's most prosperous. U will notice lots of obese people in the paintings. That is what is happening today. Every middle class to rich China family i know, is either overweight or downright obese.

We are not our ancestors, so better not eat like them. Eat like our distant ancestors, the Paleolithic ones LOL

if u mean the skin, it will only turn dark if there's sugar on it to caramelize. Now u know why outside chicken wings got "golden" colour....the colour of death LOL

last time when i visit my mom, she was so disappointed i dowan to eat her food.

Then she became disgusted at my diet, all the fats. She's extremely fat-phobic like most people.

Now, my parents are totally amazed at my weight-loss and how healthy n strong i look. I wanna prove it to them that it's the way to good health. So far i've not fallen sick since changing my diet. Not even close (u know sometimes u feel like u r almost gonna fall sick?). I wanna see how long it'll take for me to fall sick LOL

Lausai not counted, last month had bad lausai from eating a semi-decomposed mussel LOL
