Xeryh 3rd Gear September 6, 2010 Share September 6, 2010 Was same as bro eviltrap, I started out last Monday, and as of today, I've lost 4kg. I think its mostly water and glycogen from muscles though lol. Been exercising at the gym almost everyday doing resisitance (weights), and 'cheat' once a day by taking 2-3 slices of fruits. Otherwise no sugars/carbs at all (save from salad). bro , keep it up!! i also must eat carbs everyday last time ..... now i can do wo days! lets work hard ! Chickenbackside 1st Gear September 6, 2010 Share September 6, 2010 Yeah, initial weight loss will come mostly from water. As you might already know, 1g of carbs binds almost 3g of water. Talk about bloating! But you'll know when the fat loss kicks in. Your face will start looking different. Your cheekbones will come out, your body will start shrinking all over while becoming tighter, like shrink wrap. You'll hit a plateau, but if you persevere, the 2nd phase will be like WHOOSH... Warning: don't buy clothes during this time. You'll shrink 5-6 inches on your waist.
LookingBusy Neutral Newbie September 6, 2010 Share September 6, 2010 By the way, had half a roasted duck the other day, it was freaking oily and those are hydrogenated oil ain't it? Felt so uneasy after eating that. Of course roasted is nicer, but i will have to change to braised duck and have the roasted one once in a long while. Yeah keep persevering pple! I have already hit a plateau and seems i can't shed anymore (other than my thighs area which is not gonna happen). I hope it's not my nuts addiction that's plateau-ing it
Chickenbackside 1st Gear September 6, 2010 Share September 6, 2010 Try one week without nuts. You'll know for sure after that!
LookingBusy Neutral Newbie September 6, 2010 Share September 6, 2010 Arggghhh i have a last 500gms pkt of macadamias in the fridge, let me finish that first I have made myself a promise not to buy them again for 2 weeks to curb the addiction and see where it takes me. Eviltrap 2nd Gear September 6, 2010 Share September 6, 2010 cook with butter ? its will have more fats n taste better! Yeah. I agree cooking with some butter will taste slightly better with the added sodium. However, having to eat butter alone still still makes me wince whenever I start putting it in my mouth. Eviltrap 2nd Gear September 7, 2010 Share September 7, 2010 Congrats bro! First and most important step has been taken: the start to do something about your weight and health! Don't sweat over the details too much. The main things that make you fat are sugar and refined carbs. So as long as you cut out sugar, rice, bread, noodles, pasta...etc, you're as good as more than halfway there. Eat REAL food. If you want apple, eat an apple, don't drink apple juice. If you want fish, eat freshly cooked whole fish, not a fillet o fish. If you want grapes, eat grapes, don't drink ribena. If you wanna supercharge your weightloss, avoid dairy and most fruit (except berries). If you must have starch, eat small amounts of sweet potato or yams. Cook in butter or ghee or coconut oil to sneak some more fat calories in. Remember, carbs by themselves are not half as bad as carbs + fat. If you know you cannot tahan and must have carbs, cut the fat! Then you'll realize how sucky carbs taste without the fat! If you hate to eat pure fat, just eat the most fatty proteins you enjoy. Remember, the key word is ENJOY. You must find a way, a balance, to ENJOY this way of living, or it will only be a temporary phase in life even if you do manage to lose all your weight for your wedding. Find ways to move more. Stand up more often during the day. Walk up a flight of stairs instead of taking the escalator. When you're overweight, small things like that will make a huge difference. Strategize and plan to succeed. Seek out all possible sources of acceptable food at the places you frequent. Bring food sit you if you must. I bring my own food when i travel. Don't let your family, friends or colleagues sway you any other way. You chose this path, which totally is against conventional wisdom, so you can expect lots you negative remarks about how you are going to kill yourself eating this way. Non of it is true becos they are ignorant. Lastly, a word of encouragement. My friend started off at 120+kg, with a waistline of 43". His height is 1.8m. He is now 78kg with a waistline of 33". Took him 1 year. He did it mostly without exercise in the conventional sense. He just made sure he moved more like walk more or climb stairs more. He went from being really really fat, to now, a hunk. The best part, he did it eating as much as he wanted. Zero starvation. In fact, he was just saying he eats much more now than when he was fat. Thanks for all your advices and encouragement, bro! I WILL make sure this diet goes on. Just gotta find way to make the food interesting. Anyway, your friend is tall, so compared to me, he's not as bad as me. I'm only 173/4 and my waist already 46"!! Finding clothes is always a burden. Hopefully this all will change very soon. Nowadays I take the stairs up to the workplace from the carpark. My work normally require a fair bit of standing, depending on how busy. I also incorporated brisk walking every other day to make my body work harder. With all the postings and real life experiences from you guys, I can't wait to reap the rewards! Skunk Clutched September 7, 2010 Share September 7, 2010 Wow , ytd I ate until so full , no appetite to eat this morning but i drink some FULL CREAM milk. go easy on the milk, or anything that can even raise some insulin response, if u want results as fast as possible. Studies have shown that rapid bodyfat loss is more beneficial to the body than slow-loss. I was ULTRA STRICT with my diet in the initial stages, that was how i lost 1kg per week consecutively for 12 weeks straight, before it slowed down naturally. Of course, go at the pace n strictness u r most comfortable with, just sharing my own experience :) today cooking beef-tripe soup indonesian style....like kambing soup hehe I guess i'm just lucky, to be working part-time from home, looking after my 2 infant daughters, that gave me the ability to cook at home and eat so "clean". Eviltrap 2nd Gear September 7, 2010 Share September 7, 2010 I brought a can of Ayam brand coconut cream to work today. Is it better to drink it before, during or after the meal? Gotta pyscho myself to eat roast pork again. Just the thought of it makes me gelat. I brought home-made chicken curry yesterday. But I stopped today coz after I checked the packaging of the curry powder yesterday, I got freaked out! There was more than 20g of carbs!!

But I stopped today coz after I checked the packaging of the curry powder yesterday, I got freaked out! There was more than 20g of carbs!! Most pre-packed curry powder has rice flour inside, to give it the creamy starchy texture. That's where the carbs come. Don't discard it, still can use....very sparingly :) In fact, like i said before, all plant-matter has carbs, so use carefully. My diet is practically carnivorous, and i've suffered no ill health, gout, constipation or whatever.....i've not even come close to feeling unwell, in fact, never felt stronger or have more vitality than ever before. Only downside is expensive meals and less food choices. To combat boredom, i cycle between beef, chicken, lamb, fish, shellfish, pork, duck.....just fish n shellfish alone got so many types, more than enough to give a good variety :) ↡ Advertisement
