Mazdaowner Moderator October 11, 2010 Share October 11, 2010 When you do a bit of frying on meats prior to stewing, it helps the meat stay firmer and not break up into smaller pieces. Cover the lid of the pot and let it sheer for a while on both sides, say roughly 5-6mins per side,, medium heat. Then add your broth and bring to a boil. Dear MO Thanks for the tips ! I try not to fry as a lot of things to clean up. I prefer stew , haha , i think i will wake up 30 mins early to prepare for lunch . But I need to buy some meat first ..... How's everyone lunch ? i had 22 pcs of salmon sashimi , still not very full yet ....

Topgun Neutral Newbie October 11, 2010 Share October 11, 2010 Yeah, fatty part is the belly, elsewhere is just lean. I eat only salmon belly; I just go to larger fairprice n buy, salmon belly in packs. Cheap relatively. Open 1 packet each time, 4 or 5 bucks, pan fried, eat until omega 3 coming out frm backside! Maybe now my backside really look like CBS - I mean the real CBS
LookingBusy Neutral Newbie October 11, 2010 Share October 11, 2010 Bought some toman meat and belly from ntuc. Toss it in oven for 30 mins and apply lots of butter and pepper and let it settle for another 15 mins. Found it quite good with almost none of that terrifying fishy smell. Finally found another fish alternative to stingrays and tuna/sardines! I too need the omega 3, too much macadamias
Skunk Clutched October 11, 2010 Share October 11, 2010 Toman got high omega3 meh? They're tropical predatory fish....very lean, not much fat and they eat small herbivorous fish. Typically high omega3 content is found in cold water fatty fish, or tropical fish that has a high diet of shrimp/shellfish. If u hate fish, how about shellfish? That's another very good source of omega3. ↡ Advertisement
