Pay road tax using credit card?

To those who are ignorant and still want to make snide remarks (or are dead set on trolling), CC points are worth it. Points accumulated on my UOB card can be exchanged for Choice vouchers which I can use when shopping at Giant, for instance. I can also redeem the points when I fill up at Shell, comes to as little as $2 to as much as $10 discount, depending on when I last redeemed the points.

It's not a huge amount of $, but it's still basically free $, so why the heck not?

Using CCs to pay for recurring expenses is an excellent idea, as long as you live completely within your means and pay fully with GIRO every month.

totally agree...

so far with my miserable spending using my maybank card with no expiry, I have exchanged for a HDD DVD Recorder when it was worth about $450 a few years ago, and next I am going to get an LCD TV worth about $1500 this year.

CC points are definately worth accumulating. Other cards have exchanged for countless cinema tickets, petrol vouchers, supermarket vouchers, games, toys, etc.

When I queue to pay for petrol with credit card, I still see people paying with cash... I can't imagine why. They miss out on various CC discounts and CC points. I can only guess they can't afford credit cards, or they are laundering money, or just plain suaku.

Cc is good if that you know how to control future money.

I use Citibank and every 3months, a cool cash back of $70~$170 for me.

With such rewards, can you say cc is no good?

Please don't assume everyone can get a CC. My family does not have any CC because parents are low income, we are poor but own a car because parents need it for work. Early morning got to drive to market buy things and to work place, a car/van is a NEED and not a WANT.

It's only now when I work I can apply for a CC and have a sub card for my dad just for petrol.

Many people get this misconception tat ppl who drive car are rich??? Some need to drive becos of need . If it is onli a few hundred dolloar then U pay for all of us lor...

I just paid mine using Diners. When queried, the cashier at the STA counter told me that LTA only accept Diners, not others.

Hopes this help.

As for why use CC, my view is.....to each his own.

To use Dinersclub card, you have to pay for your road tax at the Post Office. The installment payment cannot be paid through any other means with the Dinersclub card.
