Have a fren who's getting 6km to 7km per litre in real world driving...

thats FC similar to santa fe, fortuner, trajet etc

which i think is still manageable considering a CX7 is a driver's SUV

I have one (2007 model) and still love driving it everyday... consumption is around 6-7 km/l when driving around 100-110km/h, 7-8km/l when around 80-95 km/h - average 70 percent highway.

If rev hard like I did to KL and back, around 5-6km/l. This is one serious car and maintenance is not cheap but if you like fast cars... just enjoy the ride. Will probably look at the new one, tho not as good looking, but nothing else in the market attracts me at the moment except for the Q5, but need to save for it.

Other than the speed limit... really can Zoom zoom zoom.

I tried both 2.3 and 2.5 back to back and did floored them both pedal to the metal.....the 2.3's lag was quite bad from 0 to 50 km/h.....Hopefully the local agent can find a cure for it...as it's quite a turnoff...

Actually I somehow didn't feel that with the previous CX-7

There was a lag but maybe for like 0.3 sec then the fella will take off like a bat out of hell and doesn't run out of breath until well beyond the speed limit...heheh

Again, it's getting used to the lag and know when to mash down the throttle...

Trust me, it's a lot better than the A4 1.8T I tried...pedal to the metal and nothing...zzzzz

My current ride is a supercharger - different beast altogether

Guess I will never be going back to NA cars :D

Yup, that sounds about right - same with what I got from my 2007 CX-7...

Never had the chance to take it up to KL but did really drive it hard once here during the wee hours of the morning...all I will say is that the speed limiter works

Been over six months since I sold it and yet I will still turn my head to admire the car whenever one passes me on the road [bigcry]

Hate to say this....seems like the newer FL version is worst than the predessesor.....I definitely think the lag is worst than the pre-FL version..

Neutral Newbie

I have been driving a CX7 for some 13 months since Jan 2009.

FC is not impressive at probably 6.5km per litre (mixed driving). But this is quite expected for a SUV with a turbo engine. Honestly, how would it be possible for a SUV to have a decent FC?

In my opinion, the turbo lag is probably some 1 or 1.5 second. Maybe less. However activation of the turbo gives a massive increase in pickup. In moving up slopes, I think the CX7 should be able to outrun most cars on the road including the so-called sport cars. Well at least that is the impression.

The BOSE sound system is quite good but can only feel the effect with certain CDs.

I have not tried to race other cars on the roads as the the CX7 looks a little tricky cutting corners and making aggressive turns.

In conclusion, I think the CX7 is the car that can outrun all other SUVs and those that can outrun the CX7 are probably way too expensive.

was looking to get a used CX-7 2.3turbo version. Anyone owned it or still currently driving it?

Any advice, comments, complaints to look out for besides the high FC?

thanks!
