Let me explan to you this view strictly from Biblical view. So dont blast me.

The reason for this is that, in the Bible, there is only 1 God and all other are consider demons (or fallen angle imitation as God.)

Anyway, honestly, he is speaking in his own church to his own church memebers hence a direct remark. However, this type of things shouldn't be preach on a sunday sermon. Those things he preach should be in a more private event like maybe a church retreat where only church members are around and there is no video viewing.

As a leader, he should not to members. What if there are some who is seeking 'the way'? What would be the impression. He has to have a greater responsibility when he speak to the congregation.

your sentence is 1/2 way so i dont really understand.

Yap that is why, he shouldn't have said those thing in a sermon on sunday as there are non-christian around.

Those are more suitable for private church event.

I am a Christian myself.

And I fully respect other religions and I don't go around criticising my friends, colleagues or other people's beliefs, altars, figurines, rituals etc. or condemning them.

This is not what the Bible teaches and certainly not what Jesus says. :D

My colleague was from his church.. He should be spreading what he says to his church members, if not my colleague wouldn't be like that. He also openly says that the figurines that Buddhist and Toasist worship are demons.

Haha... I'm speechless for these ignorant fools. From these words, Christians will know these ppl only attend church sermons but they dun attend Sunday school(no, not only for children, for adults too). In the Bible, Jesus warned his followers about "idol worshipping" aka figurines of animals or other human figures. But somehow I dunno how the words got twisted to become the words you had mentioned. So to me these ppl never attended Sunday school and misinterpret which ever pastor preached. The Bible never mentioned anything about other religions being demons.

The keyword used in the Bible is "idol worship". So whatever comes out of other "so and so" ppl's mouth, you just listen and move on. Do not go and further twist the words. For ppl like me I will find it hilarious but for ppl who dun understand they get offended and start posting hate thread like this for example.

This topic is sensitive, for those who dun have an understanding better refrain from commenting. The lack of understanding from both sides will cause a lot of misunderstanding. There will be unnecessary flaming and slamming. Dun get yourself into unwanted trouble.

In Buddhism,Taoism,Confuscius all is teachings and philosophies

Followers worship them and 'pray' them and worship them as God (Taoism)from their achievements and contributions to human man kind

Wang Di,Dua Pei Kong etc etc

And ya,they existed long ago, infact Taoism and Confuscius teachings, alot are from I Ching,1 of the 3 "Jing Shu" which existed way before..

In actual fact, there is only ONE GOD present to all religions. There is no so called "my God is more powerful than yours"...

Even if its behind close doors. The way of preaching is wrong as it sends out a wrong message. Remember, words are powerful tools.

Just to add, I don't think the pastor even understands buddhism sufficiently in the first place to even comment/criticise it.

This is the thing that preachers of That Religion would tell you when you respond to their approaches by saying you're not interested or raise certain points to query certain tenets of That Religion.

Anyway, if he can bring himself to state such positions in a public setting (by that I mean a church gathering), I think it is a strongly held belief of his. As such, the 'apology' is nothing beyond the procedural and there is no substance in it, at least to me.

I am sure, over the years, there are people who have left his church for others. I have attended his church once many years ago, just to see if it is good for my then teenager SIL. I left the service with disappointment. During the sermon, he was sort of glorifying himself eg. how hard he and his team started this church, heal the people, etc.....never did he give credit to God during that time. Maybe it was just that 1 service that was like that.....but I feel it was enough for me to share my tots with my SIL and left it to her to decide.

I feel his style of evangelism is more suited for the impressionable youth and people who were superstitious; people who believe in seeing instant results.

This is even more worse as youths cannot interpret and differentiate the religious teaching and the moral behind it. At least adults are more analytical on what is correct and what is wrong. Remember what happened to the 3 youth who posts remarks on Facebook???

Have you read through all the whole bible? it did mentino that my God is more powerful than yours.

As for the close door thing, what is wrong if he is teaching base on the basic bible truth/knowledge?

Its like the current pope, i respect him even though he is constantly bash(even though he mention that protestian christian is only 1/2 christian). At least he dare to stand out and say his view which is inline to catholic belief rather than given out a politically correct view.

Anyway, let close this thread before it become too sensitive.
