I think i read somewhere before that KIA is bringing in the 2012 FL version Soul, but no confirm date is given.

Like what Lilblackrabbit has mentioned, the Soul seems to be really popular in the US, but somehow didn't fare well here.

 

I placed an order for the new 2012 Kia Soul in Dec 2011 and I'll be taking delivery of it within these 2 weeks!

 

Will try to do a short review after that.

 

Having said that, any Soul owners here?

 

Wow nice. I didn't think they would try to bring the FL ver here considering the poor take up rate. How much did you pay for yours, can share? I also wonder how they charge for the customisation (every soul has to have his own soul right :) ?).

It's always out of stock in the US, that's why. Too popular, so that means a small market like Singapore gets the lowest priority. The FL-version is a good improvement though, I like the new back led lights and front grill.

i would think it is also due to the timing (COE prices) that affects the perceived poor pick up rate...

AD called to say that I can collect it tomorrow!

 

Cluboxed: I may be wrong but i don't think its launched yet; AD only recently updated their webpage with a micro site for the 2012 Soul. Other than that, no news whatsoever

The Soul is very popular in USA.

 

FL model includes Daytime LED Running strip lights under the headlights, reshaped rear bumper, and better interior quality materials.

Indee Kia soul is very popular there. In fact more than mini cooper.

I believe nothing to do with the COE prices, could be cause hatchback car not very popular with people. You look at elantra, even COE price so high and yet still so many people buy?!

Nope, C&C didn't have any showcar (not even brochure!) of the new Soul when i placed my order.

 

There was only 1 trim and it was going for $89,999 at that time. I wanted leather seats so had to top up abit more; ended up paying $90+k.

I can't comment on the funky part but i was definitely drawn by the spaciousness and large door arches (easy for my aging parents to get in and out).

 

As for cheap ... not with the high COE

 

In other parts of the world however, yes it definitely is a model that's excellent value for money!
