i find to fan too noisy. it's sucking in air from the stem through the holes around the stem. biggest size is 12 inch diameter, for $429. stick to my old old ceiling fan

For fans, the basic theory applies - the bigger the blades, the more efficient it is. This is why those "propeller" fans gives of crazy amounts of wind. The Dyson fan is using a small blade at high RPM to drive air into the ring. This is not very efficient and it will be noisier as well. I would stick to the normal KDK fans. 1 dyson can buy 4 kdk fans!

No company will spend millions of $$ trying to put into the market a product with obsolete technology. This is a cutting edge technology.

I disagree. They spent millions, yes on the design element. But it's not cutting edge in terms of functionality. If it is that efficient, the aerospace industry would have adopted the concept.

i prefer normal one..

by looking at it..the 'radius' of fan flow seems v concentrated

Not really. The wind dispersion is actually fairly similar to that of a normal fan. It is rather noisy tho.
