Old days, was due to the DMZ being 2.4-2.6km away from the MZ.

Pickup point distance for extraction.

Question: Why 2.4KM?? Why not 3KM? 2KM? 4KM?

anyone knows?

Turbocharged

IIRC, the UK army's test is a 1.6 mile (~2.6km) run in under 12 or 13 min. Got it from a BBC Knowledge program.

This channel is cool. Loads of interesting documentaries.

2nd link is much longer, got upslope and downslope.... only commandos can do it.... [laugh]

I cannot say here whether woodlands bridge is exactly 2.4KM or not, but if i can point this out here, its up to readers to decipher.......

2.4KM run got strategic reasons....

Maybe Woodlands CP to JB is 1.2km.... must run there and back so that's why 2.4km is it? [:p]

why must run 2.4km within 12 mins?

why dont run 1.2km within 6mins?

or even better....600m within 3 mins?

proportional mah....then also ppl who can run fast no need to wait for the ppl who walk entire 2.4km. haha
