sHy3r 4th Gear December 31, 2018 Share December 31, 2018 i have a 2015 K5. anyone knows whats the equivalent submodel to those in the US? in US theres SX and EX and all but Sg only states 2.0 or 2.4. any idea how to check? C&C only bring in K5 highest specs. Unlike K3... K5 only have SX model in SG. I intend to change my Head Unit. I am looking at having GPS, Bluetooth, USB and Apple Play function. Anyone has any recommendation? Note: for K5.
teomingern Supercharged January 1, 2019 Share January 1, 2019 i have a 2015 K5. anyone knows whats the equivalent submodel to those in the US? in US theres SX and EX and all but Sg only states 2.0 or 2.4. any idea how to check? In the US, the base model uses the 2.4 L engine... the other trims use the 2.0 L turbo... the eco model should be using the 1.6 L turbo... there's no equivalence in terms of models from US & Singapore... cos no one sells a mid-size sedan (mid-sized for US) with a puny 2.0 L engine... this 2.0 L engine is not even used for the Elantra in the US... they get a better more powerful GDI 2.0 L engine while we only get the less powerful MPI engine with poorer fuel consumption... and poorer emission standards... Dragonong Clutched March 17, 2019 Share March 17, 2019 Hi guys, recently lookin at the K5, second hand. Was wondering if there is any difference before the facelift model and the newer ones that is significant. How about the 2.0 vs 2.4 variant. Which is more value for money?Any inputs will be greatly appreaciated. Thank you in advance guys.

Any inputs will be greatly appreaciated. Thank you in advance guys. If you're looking at between 2.0 & 2.4 L then you're probably looking at the 2010-2015 model year... most likely you're looking at the 2015 models... Between that model and the current model, no difference other than the facelift and some tweaks to the features... the best equipped model was the end 2015 model where it had everything thrown in for about $125,000. I was seriously looking at it... but a bit too early for me to change car then... Between 2.0 & 2.4 L, again not much difference... the power output and torque isn't very big, plus the gearbox is quite slow... I'll suggest stick to the 2.0 L for lower road tax and fuel consumption... Those with sunroof are the top trim models... go for those...

Any inputs will be greatly appreaciated. Thank you in advance guys. I have 2014 2.4L K5. The pickup is much better than my previous 2.0 Camry. The sunroof is basically useless in Singapore unless you want to UV your seats to kill gems.I think 2015 model has symmetric aircon dashboard unlike the 2014 model with aircon dashboard tilt towards the driver. If your driving behaviour like fast pickup, go for 2.4L. My K5 seat is not as comfortable as 2004 Camry but give better back support.
sHy3r 4th Gear March 17, 2019 Share March 17, 2019 (edited) I have 2013 K5. Twin roof, electronic handbrake, hill assist, ventilated seats... Basically, i think 2012(end) to 2014 are the best as used car are selling close to the scrap value due to high paper... high coe... Models before 2013, they r using foot brake, fyi. 2.0 has low pick up... but when rpm reaches 2500... u feel the push... If u have $... got for 2.4.... but road tax is costly. Dragonong Clutched June 21, 2019 Share June 21, 2019 Hi guys.... one of my LED daylight is down for my 2012 model. any one knows where to check repair? thanks in advance I saw on Taobao selling for about $100 ish SGD bro. My apologies to @sHy3r @CKONG1301 and @teomingern for my late reply forgot PW and didn’t apply new one. Haha... I’ve gotten my K5 too. 2012 2.0L. Sluggish in the drive compared to my previous ride but kinda expected. Cos the FC is better now so something gotta go ya. Otherwise the car is spacious and nice from the outlook too. Curious, anyone modded their ICE? Was thinking if I wanna do that too.
teomingern Supercharged June 21, 2019 Share June 21, 2019 Hi guys.... one of my LED daylight is down for my 2012 model. any one knows where to check repair? thanks in advance Buy from Kia stockist - either Song Yi or Min Ghee... then get a workshop to replace for you... much cheaper than sending back to Cycle & Carriage... best to use original parts for peace of mind and also the LED DRL pair will look matched in colour... Then the dealer said replaced for $500+ but I don’t buy their story. Got my car from Hua Yang. Should have researched more then jump straight in. Dragonong Clutched June 22, 2019 Share June 22, 2019 Hua Yang is reputable company. They shud replace for u for free. If within 6 mths u buy...They did. Just that the amount they mention is too high. I was too quick to commit to the sale so I forgot about the road tax. When I bought left about a month. Should have nego on that actually. lol

As for roadtax, most of the time used car dealers wont pay for u on renewal if it’s left 1 month or more...
Dragonong Clutched June 23, 2019 Share June 23, 2019 just to clarify as well, that the forum do not have a specific aftermarket section for the korean cars right? im thinking to replace the HU with those touch screen or double din panels. will we need to get another bracket to install the HU? ↡ Advertisement
