but they operate like fish markets.

 

Not enough parkinig lots than start to build?

Worst than buying grocery. When we buy grocery, we try to keep enough stocks.

 

LTA over release COE in the past few years.

HDB did not respond to build more parking lots. [mad]

 

Like that anybody also can be gehment.

The sum worked out to be $13,200 per lot.

 

forgive me but i cant really understand how a block of concrete, some steel bars, and some paint can amount to 13k

It's the price of land that costs a bomb. It's now like $1000 psf for a condo in neighbourhood area.

to be fair to them, you need to know where the additional cars go to before you can build... but then again, they should have worked out a ratio of no. of lots to no. of households and planned according to that...

 

The cost of $66m sure sounds like they have included the price of the land, the cost of putting up the tender (admin & labour costs), the total maintenance cost over the lifespan of the carpark (20 yrs), plus the actual construction cost... if that's the case.. I would say that even the cheapest cars here cost about $300k [car price + maintenance (10yrs) + petrol (10yrs) + operating costs of parking, ERP and etc (10yrs)]...

Have you check the price of HDB lately. Isn't it just concrete & pipes. How much it cost.

 

Anyway, these figures (build & maintain) are suppose to be classified, or so I think.

 

Wait, you mean 13k per lot. I thought its 13k for the whole car park, & I was about to say, I think its quite cheap. Holy cows. I am lost for words.

Ya ya, but didn't the government OWNS the land? If so, how can there be even a cost? Unless they classified as land worth.

 

Everything also must squeeze money here in Singapore.

Big budget, sure, Talents. Sorry but since when do LTA hired Musicians, artists, footballers or designer? At least they don't hired for these quality.

 

Its amazing how the word Talent is being used in Singapore, all thanks to our minister. Talent is like a gift, that is part potential, part hard work. If you don't have it, suz thumb. Ability, leadership, interpersonal skills & knowledge can be train, & cultivated, but only and only if you put your heart. Thiese are the people we wanted.

 

In a nutshell, we don't need people who are talented, just people who are skilled, knowledge, ability to put everything together & communicate with others. None required exceptional talent, but required exceptional, or rather reasonable commitment & coordination.

I too worry that this could be one reason that the parking rates at HDB carparks are on the way up.

 

Just this week read that we have one of the cheapest parking rates in Asia (world?). Another sign of an increase in the parking rates? [thumbsdown]

You wait long long. It will take at least 10 years to recover $66M, so the best and quickest way is everyone HELP to pay. [lipsrsealed]
