Air con filter

juz changed my air con filter today..my previous one comes wif a carbon/charcoal netting. upon taking it out, realised it was rather dirty and even got leaves and birdie feather! lolx.

 

juz a small tip, actually i realise all the air con filter's material looks largely the same hence getting a OEM one is probably good enough. also, dun be so fast to throw away ur old filter! u can actually cut out the carbon/charcoal netting and reuse it wif the new filter.

 

of course if u're a DIY person, u can always get those 3M filters from self-fix shops or even filters from daiso (heard tat it's available..)

 

after which, u haf a new air con filter at less then half the price of a so called "branded" one!

another tip is to use recycle air from the cabin rather then fresh air mode. cuz it tends to invite alot of unwanted stuffs on ur filter.

How long have you been using the previous filter?

For me usual air blowing regularly will extend filter life.

 

And you are right, external air mode shortens filter life. and let you breathe fowl smell from dead insects & leaves.

mine is an used car hence the owner changed to some clariefresh brand or something tat comes wif the netting. can be reused, no problem!

dunno previous owner used how long already. the previous servicing i did take out and air blow it. but after 10,000km, i think its best to change the filter cuz i feel the air flow like abit restricted. so in short, if ur current filter comes wif the carbon/charcoal netting, dun forget to remove it when u do another change next time!

 

$15-$20 vs $60+ for a branded one..saves $$$! hehe

u might wanna check wif nissan stockist for the OEM filter. should be much cheaper then u get from tan chong or those accessories shop.

only cairefresh brand type of filters got the carbon netting in which u can cut and reuse it and put back at the base of the air con tray
