Yeochris Clutched August 28, 2010 Share August 28, 2010 Hi guys, Beside changing the filter? Do we need to service our aircon?
Yuan 6th Gear August 28, 2010 Share August 28, 2010 Actually, if AC filter material is PP, and not paper, you can wash it lightly. That is what I did on yearly basis or 20K, and finish it with disinfection solution. But this was before I found the out about supplier for $14-15 dollars filters froom MCF Some AC filter filter cost $50+, if you change every 5K-10K, that could be wast eof $$ and actually, they are still rather clean. Mine cost about S$19 from the guy selling the AC filters. I think it is alright for me to change regularly.
Tianmo Hypersonic August 28, 2010 Share August 28, 2010 Did you happen to race in the desert? Actually, in my opinion, change at 10k mileage is good enough. Do it together with the regular servicing. no leh, i don't race and I stay in the same country as you leh...... maybe because I took out to check lah, if I don't see maybe bo dai zi, maybe 5000km and 10000km the filter look the same, all brown brown. Vroomtattat 2nd Gear August 28, 2010 Share August 28, 2010 Yes, I follow your recommendation to this funny uncle. At first he said $14 without hesistation. when he brought out the box, he raise it to $16. but lowered again to $15, after he said something. All the while I did not bargain or said anything else except for the first question on the price. I will also pay if he stick to $16. Orginal $50+. Har har! Good good Unker likes playing show hand

I think the filter we bought is paper filter, I did try to wash, but gave up and throw away. mine cost $15 a pcs from ah tee, so think still ok, most air con filter would cost 3X.Those of course cannot throw like that lah, heart pain man....... instead of keeping until 15K, i can change 3x, cheap and fresh air mah

Honestly, the quality of our air and environment in this country is quite bad. Not just referring to pollution.
5936 1st Gear August 29, 2010 Share August 29, 2010 Of course not all cars use the same materials. But my Toyota use PP, I washed a before. For the new $15 filter, not sure if it's PP or paper, as it is my first time using it. But at that price it made more sense to replace it.
