True to a certain extent. Because if one has been following the JB local newspapers, it is often found that Toyota is among the top brand that the syndicate would want to target. Particularly the MPV and SUV. Car theft syndicates are usually run by the Chinese and they are more active in places like KL City, Selangor and Seremban areas. These are 3 places that have the highest car crimes among the other cities.

 

For conti, top target remain Benz and BMW.

Those are absolute numbers - they don't say very much. If there are far more Protons and Japanese makes, the numbers of those cars stolen will naturally be higher.

 

What you need are the denominators, i.e. how many of each make of cars are actually plying the roads. Then you can calculate a percentage of each make stolen, which will be indicative of the relative risk of theft.

With Opel even if you leave key inside they also dont want to drive away. Except for Zafira

 

I had Opel Astra 1.4 SW before..

 

Sorry to say, that was the most unrealiable car I had.

 

Broke down too many times. And towed to workshops 4-5 times within 4 years.

 

It was fortunate it did not broke down in NSHW. But I was stressed when I drove in. Stressed over reliability and spares in MY.
