To make things worse, even car inspection centers seems to be not very reliable when it comes to accident/flood detection. Lets share some knowledge here on how to identify a car that has suffered flood damage. I believe there are many gurus in MCFs that can shed some light on this. Also, for people who have experience driving a flood damaged car, do share the sort of problems encountered and remedies. not exactly foolproof, but you can check spare tyre compartment. because that part of the car not exposed to flowing air or sun, chances are high that there will be slight rust there.
