VW tiguan or Mazda CX7

Hi, My friend narrowed down to two choices as above . Both models he is just looking for the base model. can anyone help to suggest the best choice of the both. we compared the specs and found Tiguan has more features & options...

Appreciate any kind of feedback..

About 10K. My friend is not too concerned about the price difference upto 15K..He is more specific to comfort, Safety and looks ( he like both in look)

I think TS is refer to base model.

That's mean CX7 should be the 2.5L non turbo model. 2.3T is the more ex model.

2.5L non turbo FC at most u can get 8-9km/L

 

if cost is not a problem, get the tiguan.

 

P.S. provided if space is not a concern, CX7 is bigger, hence more spacious

Friend of mine got the Tiguan new when COE was 5K. Within 5 months it went back to VW no less than 6 times for something amiss in the gearbox. Car is older now but she is already looking at something else.

 

Another friend driving the CX7. Its abt 2 years old. So far he hasn't gone back to agent except for the servicing.

 

Just feedback from 2 of my friends, I have no vested interests with VW or Mazda.

The CX7 is pretty much bullet proof. Having had one....and just sold it off for $82k...considering i bought it for $100k.....over 2 yrs, i lost $9k/yr. Excellent value. Current ones are pretty ex, though, but look for a good used one

 

CX7 gives you the bang for buck, ie the 2.3 turbo one. Spacious and loads of horsies to play with

CX-7 for me cos its more handsome and has better road presence plus its more spacious than the tiguan.

 

But tiguan boast better fuel economy n faster pickup plus higher top speed, plus better road handling.

 

Comfort wise both about the same unless u happen to be a 6 footer++ like me than choose the mazda would be a better choice.

I second that...both my mazdas, the mx-5 and cx-7 (prev) have never had any issues...and really, I am sold on their quality
