You know her for 10+ years and only get married for 1 year. Your r'ship should be quite stable.

1st, get in yr parents' name & convert hdb to tenant-in-common - yr lost is minimized when its sold years later

2nd, draw the $ line very clear since she's oso working - cars or other assets

3rd, have all yr $ billed as investments with joint names with parents - so $ oso belong to them which she c--t touch later

 

its inevitable dat you will need to see a lawyer for advice now to expedite yr separation-to-divorce

yr lawyer will advice you the kind of evidence needed so that you can task yr PI accordngly - save cost if needed

oni when you have done all above, then get a formal documented discussion (with mediator) with her to lay down the conditions - dis is the oni way for you now.

 

take it this way, what you have earned previously & now is HALVED!

you need to secure what you earn next & tml.

Whatever it is, guys lose out. Rem reading tnp about this ang mo who was divorced when his wife ran off with another guy. He won the biggest lottery (cant rem, but i think about 30Mil?) ... But his ex-wife sued him for 2M ... and the judege granted it ... wah kao ... dunno SG got such thing or not

Sell and get a divorce and look for other vegetables

the hdb is less than 5yrs ... if i'm not wrong, you can't sell the hdb to market.

 

There are only 2 ways i can think of:

 

1) surrender to hdb.

2) she do a part transfer / sale to eligible party like mother/father. if parents already have their own hdb, then the only way is 1)

 

With regards to ts wife adultery, if i m not wrong, under the woman's charter, even if she commits adultery, if she meets certain criteria, she may still be able to claim maintenance. There are many reasons/excuses she can give with the advice from the lawyer.

 

like some other bros mentioned, please tx out all ur assets or investment to your parents asap if u have already decided divorce is the only way.
