Kia Forte vs Lancer Ex

My vote goes for the new Mazda 3. Sleek exterior, handling is good, but don't expect a good pickup when you are paying for a 1.6L. Alot of people here commented on pick up not good, but you are paying for 1.5/1.6, what can you expect? Which model pickup good, other than manual? LOL :D

eh i own a mazda3 sp1.6 blue, previous version.

on 16 inch rims.

the pickup is really really ridiculous.

but the handling is top notch.

the interior is above everyone in its class.

and btw, i don't like the new exterior. but that's just my opinion.

Both are winners.

LANCER EX VS FORTE EX

for me.... since both are under the same category COE A, i might as well push for the limit and go for a 1.6 forte.

For me I prefer the sleek exterior and the stability of Volvo platform, ie safer and better handling.. To each his own.. Cheerios bro [:)]

I am also not a fan of the new Mazda 3 ,especially the front "smiling" bumper.

Between the two,I will get Forte. However,I still prefer K5.

Happy Lunar New Year to all Chinese forumers

How about resale value for Kia? Worried coz afterall korean is korean. Sesame value is my major consideration so my decision is moving towards lancer ex instead.

Juz curious, is lancer ex changing facelift? There is only 3 colors to choose from. No red, silver. SE say that coz market bad so they dun dare to bring in all colors. Not sure to believe SE or anot? Another tell tale sign is that lancer ex seems To be decreasing price.. Which is quite unlikely ... Or is it Kia increasing price?

Any advice on that? TIA.

I am not sure about resale value. The new Proton Inspira is almost a carbon copy of Lancer Ex except the badge.

That is a major deterrence for me.

C&C is relinquishing dealership of Mitsubishi to Fulco (Ubi) this month. They arwill continue to make money as a distributor & authorised workshop and pass on the tough part to Fulco. Looking forward, you should be more concerned about resale value of Mitsubishi than Kia

Forget about resale values. Cars in Singapore have no resale values. Most of the time, 2nd hand car dealers will just pay you a few grands on top of paper value if your car is >= 3yr old.

If you think of reselling the car in the future, get the brands that are easy to sell yourself like Toyota or Honda.

By the time, the equation may have changed. T and H by then may be like K and H are now.

All cars in Singapore are depreciating asserts ..... I would rather look at how much depreciation and how much I am prepared to pay for it. As far as for me, all my cars have no re-sale value ... even Toyata and Honda. It depends on how much you are prepared to lose.

If between Forte and EX Lancer, I would go for FORTE.

If between Forte, EX LAncer and M3, I would go for M3.

Just personal perference.

Resales value? Just take a look at the sales volume of both for the last two years; in SG and worldwide.

Forte wins hands down. That alone already an indication of which is the most wanted car.

But then Mazda 3 is much more expensive than Forte and the spec is worse too! If your personal preference is excluded, Forte is still the most sensible choice... :D

Hmm it really depends on the driver's preference.. Forte's a wee bit too common on the roads this days.. Though the 6 speed transmission looks as tempting as its current pricing..

If you're looking to sell your car in <2 to 3 years, I would advise you to get the forte. Mazda 3 is for the niche market where the buyer really appreciates the front smiling grille and the slick cat-eyed rear (Ok I'm being baised here [:p] ), ie makes selling difficult too.

Like most bros here, would advise you against Lancer EX unless you'r comparing 2.0L.. Perhaps you should really do a test-drive to find out.

At current market yes, unless you are a sucker for either the design of EX or M3.. :D
