Now that it is almost time for this car to head to the big carpark in the sky, (transmission broke, and no point fixing cos COE ending in august) i think it'll be nice to do a gallery on her journey ever since we bought the car back in 2005.

When we first got the car, it was Glacierbleu. A little 1.6 engine but all mostly stock with a little dent on the lower lip.

It was a clean motor with it's original Blaupunkt stereo still intact

With this little E30, i made many many friends along the way... and had many good memories. The little 1.6 made many trips up and down malaysia as well. Managing to bypass roadblocks and greedy policeman along the way since it prob. looked too old to have anyone inside worth taking $$$ from.

One of my first BMW-SG meetups.

Also with this little E30, it began my foray into the crazy World of aftermarket BMW tuning.

Bilstein shocks coupled with Eibach springs went in first

Followed by Deep-Step-Dish wheels for that tuned retro-stance

A deeper front lip and sideskirts were added in to complete the look

A picture with some of the older BMWs, sadly quite a few of them have crossed over

A "deutsche" badge was stuck onto the front for the heck of it

And an Alpina wheel sourced from Ebay was shipped over

When i had the time, i'd clean the engine after washing the car

I had a pro-photog friend take a shot of the car too, this pic even went up on Speedhunters

Soon after, a shunt on the car got me sending it for a respray into it's current look

With this car, i made many journeys and with this car, i was able to make alot of friends, REGARDLESS of status, showing that the most important aspect of being a car person, is just pure enthusiasm and a genuine love for cars. And so, with a heavy heart, it's time to say goodbye. After 19 years, it's time to rest.

A rare gem indeed and the car looks really well taken care of. [thumbsup] Not renewing the COE?

thanks man. no point renewing la. COE ending in August + the gearbox just dieded last week. Does not make financial sense.

(was it ur car i see sometimes at Bedok North carpark last time? i remember seeing an MR2 a few times before)

I see. My car's COE is due in August too and I don't think it makes financial sense to renew it too if it's too expensive. Tough decision man.

And yes, haha yours must be the E30 that's parked in the corner beside the temple? I thought the pictures looked familiar. I use that carpark when the one beside it is full.

What a waste ..... I always prefer classic as well but the maintenace made it difficult for us to keep the car any longer.

I was lucky to get to use a RED 1970 MG for my wedding, it was great and the memory will always be there.

The car may be gone but the memory will always be there ............

Classic BMWs are full of characters. Initially I wasn't very sure about this 3-series styling until I got to sat in one in my friend's ride about 10 years ago. I love it for the all orange illumination at night and the black interior, the way the dashboard is designed. It just hard to express it in words, it just feel different.

I saw the orange convertible one. Supposedly owned by Fandi Ahmad and was sold in SG Car Mart. Like TS, very well kept example. Alas, a lot of them will be sent to the grave this year dur to breakback COE prices.
