Starting Aug till next yr Jan, COE quota will be greatly reduced to about 400+ (if i'm nt wrong) for CAT A.Considering the backlogs from previous COE biddings where there are still many cars which did not secure theirs, will be brought forward to this time...to me..i dunno..chances will be quite slim..but i hope AD will try to secure for you...

COE quota reduced 400+ from aug this year!!! [bigcry]

If korean car always break down,

you will see thousands of taxi passangers

stranded as thosands of taxis these days

are sonatas!

:D

If people need to ask if korean cars

are reliable they should buy simething else.

or only take crown/300C/fit etc taxis.

i took the second trim model, so its 114999.

DBS had a promo that gives 200 dollar rebate off your monthly installments for the first 18 months, if you loan more than 80k.

+ an additional 2 x 200 rebate from my staggered payment of downpayment + deposit because of my manhattan card. [laugh]

I was 50-50 before i stepped into the Hyundai showroom... but the moment i saw the elantra and test drove it. i fell in love with it.

I own Cerato 08' (not Forte), into 4 years now.

I did not have to spend a single cents except petrol and regular servicing since day 1.

To be honest, when I bought it in 2008, it was the cheapest 1.6L Auto Car in the brand new market and i did not intend to use more than 3 years (partially that fact I could not afford a decent MIJ 1.6 car that time as I was paying school fee for my part time study as well) while my peers constantly denounces me on choosing MIK car.

Year go by, Kia release Forte then Koup , then those peers changed their perception and start to snatch Koup, Avante,Forte..... I also graduated, earning more than that from 2008 and all the while I did not realise how reliable my humble car was. My next car will be probably MIK car as well even though I am able to afford MIJ car at present stage. Well, anyway, this won't happen till COE drops sub 40K. sigh [shakehead] [shakehead] [shakehead]

I believe it's all depends on your luck. I have one friend also owned cerato (not forte), but his gearbox give problem when his car reached 6 year old, and in the end he sold off the car.

Yours should be Cerato Variant 2 using the same engine as Avante. That was a nice ride too.

whether its korean, japanese, china, malaysian, british, german, italian, USA brands, all depends on luck, my bro drove a kimchi car from 1993 - 2008 without major problems, jus normal servicing n drove the 1st kimchi car for 10yrs till COE end den got the other kimchi... my cousin drove BMW 5 series n God knows how many times had to visit performance motors service centre to settle gearbox problems, fren drives a Chery SUV and never faced any problems, jus normal servicing, frens wife who does sales, drives her proton satria into KL , in and out few times every month also without any major faults, jus normal servicing. so whether u earn 75K or 175K, all car prices in spore are super high and countries that have super cheap cars, surely laugh at how silly sporeans are, at the end of the day, most feel a car is a mode of transport that takes you from point A to B. whether kia, hyundai, kimchi chevy or german merc, bmw, jepun toyota, infiniti...... all depends on your luck. mayb must be like a tomyam altis parked below my block, has religious figurines, flowers, etc on the dashboard for protection of the occupants and also mayb for car reliability

Actually I find the that Cerato not bad. Ever test drive quite a few of them when I was looking for a second hand car. Most look like not much problems.

This means that the more advanced technology a car is, the frequency of having problems is higher.... heh...

Yep. The older cars are definitely more reliable cuz there are much lesser electronic components. Just need regular maintenance and the car should last a long time.

Your statement goes well with VW gearbox problems. My coy has 4 VW and 3 already hospitalized for gb issues. The other is a new car just this year and we are already betting to see when his gb going to kaput. [laugh]

I changed from avante to ceferio.

Now that's the problem.

Cefiro maybe more comfortable to sit in. But it's nosier.

A bit problematic, etc.

And koreN cArs are seriously way too beautiful. Those who own Korean cars have better taste.

Look at the new civic, personally it's fugly. Look at the almeria. It's super fugly.

And my cefiro. It looks better than teana
