Hi bros

If its not too much trouble can you kindly recommend a few good lawyers who are capable of handling motor accident cases? This is very urgent

Thank you

If you want a big company, I can give you the direct line to Khattar Wong's head of civil litigation [laugh]

Alternatively I can give you contacts to a few smaller companies if you like. Should be cheaper that Khattar Wong's

My brother was involoved in a "traffic accident" last year May.

My brother's lorry was trying to move out from the loading bay when he accidentally knocked onto a motorbike parking beside his lorry. The owner of the bike was just standing around the area talking to his friends. When he saw his motorbike fell on the ground, the biker and his friends came over and asked my brother for compensation. My brother also step out of his lorry to take a look and saw that it was a light knock and the motorbike looked okay. As the biker and his friends get more angry, my brother kinda freak out and drove off.

3 mths later, he received a lawyer letter asking a compensation for $3249! My brother was shocked and took quite a while to recall the incident. He recalled that it was a light knock on the bike and would not catagorized that as an traffic accident. He quickly called his insurance company but was rejected the case as they cited that he did not report the accident within 24hrs and refused to take up the claim against him.

He has no choice and went ahead to pay the $3249!

Today, after nearly a year from the accident, he received another lawyer letter stating that the biker has filed a personal injury claim against him for $5000! That day my brother remembered clearly that he only knock onto the bike lightly and the biker was shouting to get compensation for his bike. The biker was definitely not injured when he left the scene.

Anyone can give me some advice on what we should do?Is there any good lawyer who can help??

Unless they're senior partners and above, they seem to work like dogs lor.... I know quite a few lawyers who have left them and a few other big firms for smaller practices for better work-life balance.

I need your advice regarding a matter

is it necessary to go with a top law firm to cement your chances of winning an already clear case?

No, unless you want to pay premium. If you go with top law firm, usually the charges are much higher than what is considered reasonable compensation. The extra amount deemed to be premium you have to foot... [laugh]
