actually catching after market DRL makes no sense. if DRL is hazardous, then they should stop Audi and Merc from installing in stock models

if audi and merc can use DRL, what's wrong with installing for all cars?

its like catching wing spoilers on cars... only wrx and evo can have stock spoilers.... rubbish

what do you plan to write in your appeal letter?

Im always amaze by how the TP can differentiate which DRL comes stock and which are after market. their knowledge of cars must be damn good

wow, so means that those car fans can submit a resume to the tp hq? [laugh]

maybe cos wrx and evo are meant for fast speed, they need spoilers to hold the car down, then those normal lancer and civic can only go slow, so cannot have spoiler. :D :D

Been seeing so many car installing LED lights. Personally I find it ugly than cool in most cases. Wondering anybody has the same feeling ?

it is very subjective and if done wrong, it actually looks distasteful.

most often then not, add-on LED does not look good as it does not integrate with the design of the car (unless come with original model).

anyway, to each his own, diff ppl diff preference as long as dun affect me or blind me its ok.

I can luff about how grotesque some one else's car looks just like others can say how lao ah pek my car looks.

LED lights (Regardless of day running lights or under-cariage LED light) installation were illegal anway and nothing could be appeal ! Illegal emans illegal. (Pl visit LTA website for illegal mods for more info)

If TP / LTA don't' take action now, (As it's getting popular installed even on commercial vehicles, motorbikes etc), it's a road hazard to other motorists due to the bight glazing even at day time (Anyway, travellling on roads in SIN was so bright enough unlike european country having foggy and 4 seasons, so what's the point of spending monies deco your cars / wheels and get fine, then pay for labour for removal of illegal installaiton & send your car / tpt go for inspection and foot the summon ?? ($ + $ + $ + $ + $ = 5$)

Neutral Newbie

heard mcw3ll says this is LTA approved....

http://racingstyle.wordpress.com/audi-styl...eadlight-civic/

Audi became the first manufacturer to feature peripheral white LEDs as daytime running lights, first on the Audi A8 W12 in 2004 and then on the Audi S6, Audi R8 and Audi A5/S5 from 2006. R8 also the first car in the world to be equipped with all-LED headlamps.

But those copy the 'Audi style' LED DRL, ie cheap and bling-bling... ugly

The problem is the pple n ws who install those after-market lights.

Some r done in a way to dazzle or blind on-coming drivers so become illegal. Same problem with fog lights, HID etc. Some pple put led's all over till distract other motorists at night. So its easier to ban all after-market lights than to dispute with pple who's lights r distracting n whose r not.

If they were done properly from the start, I doubt LTA wil bother. Its those clowns who cause all the trouble.

I think its more that many after-market stuff r not done properly, with proper testing n good quality fittings.

Some r plain silly, just like their owners. Might even cause the car to become unstable at higher speeds.

I remember long ago the 1st Celica very nice n sporty car.

Then the bengs got hold of it n put wide tyres on, especially the rear. Then the next beng see n dont want to lose out so he put wider tyres on. And it went on so forth.

Till after a few years u can see Celicas with super wide tyres on n their handling was destroyed n many skidded n crashed. This is just 1 example of why after-market things r banned.

So lets blame the clowns who do things without knowing what the hell ty r doing n endanger all other road-users.

Aaron, installation fo LED / DRL in cabin is also an offence as it'll affect the visibilityand judgement of the driver and indirectly distrct other mototrists as well.

If installed in your cabin, you'll be fine if spoted by TP / LTA & vehicle need to send for inspection & foot the inspection fees as well. Think twice !! (Pay$ for the supply & installation + fine $ + pay $ for inspection feess + wastage of times $$ = 5 x $ !!
