Engine Mount Replacement

Some 3 some 4. 2 Engine mount 1 transmission mount make it 3. But some are fours. My 2 cents.

Hi Tok, I'm also driving cefiro 2.3. My last servicing at TC the mechanic told me 2 engine mounts has worn off and recommends to be replaced. As I haven't felt any vibrations yet I KIV first. Actually there's a discussion on this at sgnissanclub maybe you can go there and take a look. But I have enquired a few workshops including those that specialises in Nissan cars and they all say that normally only change 3 mounts.

Thks Chanwk for the reference. Like you I service my car at TC too. They asked me to change all the mountings at the last servicing and I delayed till now before my next servicing this month. Most of the ws persuaded me to change only 3 mountings but not the rear mounting for various reasons. I understand the rear mounting is the most inaccessible and difficult to change. Since it is inaccessible how would they know whether the rear mounting is good or not unless after they change the other mountings to test the car whether it is still vibrating.

Hence for convenience and like some of the bros here mentioned, to change all the mountings unless you intend to sell your car in the near future.

What is your experience with Autoaid at Toh Guan road in car repair?

I've not gone there before, so far only back to TC only.

To be honest, Nissan TC is still the best place to go for Nissan's car. But many people opted otherwise is their pricing, ridiculous expensive.

Usually mounting koyat will be around same duration.. so if replace one might as well replace all.. Like that save on labour cost just to go back workshop again very soon to change another koyat mounting again.. Well it just my thoughts.

Agreed, whether one or all of your mounting is spoilt, i advise might as well change all since you have to pay for labour fee again if you go back to change again.

Same theory like changing timing belt. If you are changing your timing belt, usually people will change the water pump and gasket together, since the mechanic will need to take out everything even you are changing timing belt only. :D

Hi,

I have an issue of my 08 civic vibrating when I start the engine in morning, especially more evident in P and R gear. It usually goes away after driving for 5 or 10mins. I suspect I need to change the engine mount. Got a few quotes to change all 2 pairs (original). It's about 700 to 900 including labour. FYI.

it should have not any virbration espically when in cold start

the rpm will shot up in cold start, therefore, vibraiton should be not be there

if it in car stop on 'D' or 'R' , vibration should be mild also

get your engine mount check again if it still vibrate in cold start

i driving kah motor accord

hope this help

Go enquire at Kah Motors (I did mine there), ... Price (then) does seem more attractive, if not on par with other workshops.

And, for me, location is more convenient too. Air con environment, read papers, surf web, drink lattes.

Beats sweating it out at Defu/Ubi/etc.

After suffering from engine vibration esp. during cold starts, I went to replace one of my engine mount (Honda Civic) sometime in Dec 2010.

My invoice reads: -

Part no.: (50820-SNB-305 Mounting Rubber Assy, Engine)

Unit Price: S$214.90

Less 30% Discount (was informed valid till 31 Dec 2010) = S$150.43

Labour will be at S$50.00

* 6 (six) months warranty on the part being replaced.

Unless u prefer a rumbling ride then need not change :P Since that is considered a wear and tear item as such recommended to change. Mine also due to change as few years back I had only changed 2 pcs instead of 4 pcs but the condition is still bearable.

Hypersonic

is it normal to replace the engine mount? if dun replace ok ?

Nothing major thing will happen if you dont change your engine mounting. The only downside is the vibration you need to endure.
