Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 Here's the classic 2006 GE rally speech by LHL: I will forever remember how genuine I felt about his speech on "fixing the opposition".. oh, what a PM we have... He already fixed many Singaporeans. So non-PAP his next target. ↡ Advertisement
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 Beside vote secrecy, i have another worry that is vote rigging. You got the point. You are right. I wonder if there is/are loophole(s) for the phantom name behind mine on the same POLL CARD to be among counted votes.
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 Well said If there are more opposition in parliament, pap will be too bZ dealing with them. They got no time to check the votes. Hell to them. I believe they already got enough malingers (inflation) to deploy against the non-PAP MPs. Abolish the GRC, the solution.
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 Bro. I simplify for u la. To TS. You think you very important ah. Trace your vote? My concern is, any loophole(s) for the phantom name behind mine on the same POLL CARD to be among counted votes?
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 yes 'SECRET' That can be an issue itself for the next question: Is there any loophole(s) for the phantom name behind mine on the same POLL CARD to be among counted votes?
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 I say so many times leow.. serial number is there to prevent fraud. USA, Australia and UK are other countries which have serial numbers on the voting slip too. p/s: We inherited this system from the Brits Any loophole(s) for teh phantom name behind mine on the same POLL CARD to be among counted votes? Vtim 3rd Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 If they never trace then how come they keep changing the boundaries? They can only trace based on the voters from various block of flats/area but not down to individual lah! When you go to queue up, there will be a few lines to cast your votes (same for the past few elections). Based on your voting card, they will tell you which line to queue and cast your votes. Those from the same queue will put into the particular ballot box. So come vote counting, several ballot boxes (from the same area) will be pour out and ballot cards count together, so like that you can get a rough statistics on how many vote for Incumbent or Opposition. It is not like lucky draw where you put pour all the valid coupons collected all over Singapore into "one" very large container and dig out the lucky winning coupons. Donut Supercharged April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 Because, for a cluster of 20-30 blocks of residence, they will go to this particular polling station. By looking the results from that particular cluster, they know how good is the support for each party.. It's amazing how stupid ppl can be. It shows that level of education a person has, has no relation to the stupidity level of that person. SG has the highest level of educated people in SEA region, and yet we are still so naive and stupid, to believe that voting can be traced. Look at our other SEA countries, they are not so educated as us, and yet they dare to change garment when the garment is not doing for the good of the people. Education level not equal to stupidity level. Bo chi equal to stupidity level
Icedream 1st Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 Why so much worry? Even if you are a former ISA detainee your children can still be successful in life if they are capable. Don't believe? Go ask Dr Puthucheary.
Latio2005A Turbocharged April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 It is secret, dear Singaporeans. So what even if they know you voted for opposition? Those who attended opp rallies and got pictures spreading over youtubes - will they get penalised for chanting support for opps? Common, Singaporeans, wise up. Vote wisely. Send a message clearly. Dunno Neutral Newbie April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 that's for accountability of the ballot. it will remain a secret because they will not open the ballot after counting to check the ballot paper and serial number. During counting the serial number will not be record for each count I would think.. must ask the counters. after 7 days? the ballot papers will be burnt. So where are the voting slips stored after counting? Somewhere neutral like the President's chambers? Think about it....
Winningeleven 4th Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 Hello brothers and sisters, Do you think the voting in Singapore is really secret and unanimous? Think again. I remember back in 2006? We register at the desk with our NRIC and they compare with their serial numbered list of name/voter. They tear a piece of voting paper with serial number to you, similar to the older cheque book. They will then write your serial number from the name/voter list on the remained stub of this voting paper. This is how they know who vote who. So, is voting in Singapore really secret and unanimous? Pretty easy to know who is behind all this. So where is the fairness? Never has been and never was. I voted before and i don't think they really write on the piece of voting paper. I remembered that they are no any number of identification or serial number.
So_nice 6th Gear April 30, 2011 Share April 30, 2011 It is a good sign but the scary part is some will still 'Play Safe' in case they know!!! Secret or not secret is not an issue. If they will trace u down because you vote against them, then all the more you should vote against them as the integrity of being a leader is already not there. fully agreed. this will be the 1st time my grc gets contested since i'm able to vote. i haf the courage. wat about u guys? Never has been and never was. the votes r sealed and kept in the vault for 6mths after elections then incinerated...all these r inspected by pap n opposition party members. it is such thinking tat led many to believe the garment knows exactly who voted for who plus all those stories others have heard n spread to scare ppl to voting for miw. so pls, if our votes is not secret, i will gladly wait for someone from garment to tell me face to face who i voted for. the miw will not want to tarnish their reputation n ruin themselves internationally over this. ↡ Advertisement
