Shor 1st Gear July 12, 2011 Author Share July 12, 2011 Flying and driving is totally different feeling. You see clouds and sky for 3 hours flying from Singapore to CMai but you past thru at least 17 provinces if you drive. This is why I chose to drive! Chiang Mai is situated in the northern part of Thailand and is approx. 800 kms from Bangkok. There are many direct flights between Bangkok and Chiang Mai which take 1 hr and 10 mins. Many people miss out on a wonderful experience by flying to Chiang Mai from Bangkok. The best choice is the overnight train, which is clean, safe, comfortable and fun. Raymondism Twincharged July 18, 2011 Share July 18, 2011 Traveling in luxury and style means a lot and it means much more to those who frequently used to travel a number of places each day. So I would suggest you to hire a chauffeur to make your traveling a better one to have. then might as well fly there
Shor 1st Gear July 18, 2011 Author Share July 18, 2011 Ya I agree.... in this case, there's no longer fun traveling. Driving by our own is another kind of thrill! then might as well fly there

When on such road trips, we just want to eat up the road.

Red3 Clutched June 26, 2018 Share June 26, 2018 I think the PETRONAS CHALLENGE with a team of all 4x4s went all the way by road via Yunnan, Kunming to the Muslim region near tibet. Without a guide, you are locked within SEA. you can drive as far up into Laos to the Chinese border, and down towards cambo. Myammar, China, Vietnam wont let us thru. If you want to explore, do it on a motorbike. People will be nicer to you. ↡ Advertisement
