Those road-blocker/road-hogger always only think for themselves, they only realized the importance of giving way only when they are faced with similar situations. In short, arrogant selfish inconsiderate.

but private operator i seriously don't know when they are in emergency.. they just on their blinkers and drive around and i seldom hear their sirens also,

 

once i gave way to an ambulance (private operated) with blinkers, after i gave way because he was behind me, he overtook me and drove on 1st lane at 80kmh.. got urgent thing still can drive 80kmh?

 

 

for SCDF, the moment they on the blinkers they meant business.. when they blare they siren, people will give way ma..

 

Then maybe the guy is abusing the system.

i propose jail term for blocking ambulance, with the video on the ambulance, can see you actually block the ambulance for how long.

 

if the person plead not paying attention and cannot see or hear the ambulance with the siren behind, then okay, revoke the bugger license straightaway as he/she is a danger to other road user anyway.

I am not aware if there is any update in the penalty. I believe suspending the driver's licence for 2 years can be effective education to lose any NCD entittlement (laugh).

The report from the ambulance driver for such obstruction is deem as the Police Officer's report. No video on board ambulance required.

Something not quite right here. What I was told: the mandatory SRN paid SGD50/- per trip he attend. Would he not allow the driver to delay delivery?

They cannot dash traffic lights. Caught by camera also pay points and fine.

Caught on Speed cam on those overhead bridge also got to kena fine and points.

Private ones using Bus lane also kena summon.

where is the enforcement? the traffic police are nowhere to be seen most of the times..be it hogging, speeding, parking offences..start enforcing and all these might be greatly lessened

Actually nowadays private ambulance join in the force of SCDF. What they do is for private ambulance, they got emergency ambulance wording on the bonnet. Also, like police car if I'm not wrong. So long car in front give way, no need to keep switching on the siren, just the blinker will do. Those private ambulance tends to abuse this, switch on blinker and siren even though the car in front still quite a distance away.

if you drive in jb, you be encourage by how drivers there gave way by moving apart between lane in a jam, wide enough for the ambulance to pass thru.

 

Of course, you dont get to see it here........

 

 

not just in JB, I was going to Malacca(after toll to Melaka town) in April and an ambulance came up behind with lights and siren and can see everyone will move left/right and make the 2 lane way into a 3 lane way good enough for the ambulance to go thru.. and it was done very fast.. and at the cross junction, despite green light for other directions, the cars all stop and allowed the ambulance to cross the junction safely without delays..

 

just dont see pple practise this in SG.

 

I ever saw ambulance stuck behind a car at junction blarring horns and siren but the driver just dont give way to allow the ambulance to turn left..

I remember few yrs back, a taxi was involved with Red Rhino [iirc, was on way to attend case] at a junction. In the end the Red Rhino was judged as guilty party.

Every morning, at the same time, this particular ambulance will come down from AMK towards either Bukit Timah or Balestier (can't recall), on lane 1, and with lights flashing.

Cars will give way. But I suppose most drivers will be thinking it's just the ambulance taking advantage.

 

But to give the ambulance the benefit of doubt, maybe it's a particular patient who needs to be in hospital at the same time every morning.

You are right, lots of Pte ambulance driver got no discipline just take advantage. For me i also in doubt about it.

They sure abusing the system cos they are register as non emergency ambulance. But sometimes there are benefit of doubts but not always on blinkers all the way.
