I modded my car with bird s--t from open air carpark. N I am under aviva, I guess my policy is void.

Ya cos the 5hit cause wind resistance which cause yr car to b unstable or the 5hit too heavy on 1 side which cause car to pull to 1 side. [laugh]

What to do, modern Singapore is all about making $$, no morale responsibly at all!

Buy insurance, when something happen, say void and refund. KNN if nothing happen, don

So what are the options open to us if we now want to switch to another insurer who would not write off the policy due to the "modifications" done? Can we request them to refund us the full premium, and get another insurer to backdate the replacement policy to the original start-date? Or should we just switch over at the earliest possible date coming up? This would mean, however, that we may be having only a pseudo insurance coverage before the switch; as if an actual claim was made, the insurance policy could have been voided. Any bro has experience in switching insurer mid-way in the policy?

All Ins Cos like to collect premiums but hate to pay out claims. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

But i think the professionalism and business ethics of this company is in doubt. Non-disclosure of information on the part of insured is one thing but i don't see why the underwriter can wriggle itself out of a claim by citing sports rims as mods.

They seem to want the best of both worlds which is absurd. You take money (premiums) from motorists and bear a certain degree of risk. This is inherent in the business of underwriting. Thats why we don't pay a few dollars and everyone pay different amounts, quantum meruit.

If every underwriter can happily receive premium(s) and refund the premiums when a claim is due by citing some breach of technicality, then i think wow underwriting will be such a wonderful business.

Anyone got experience with directasia?

My getz is covered by DA. It got hit from behind by a taxi a few months ago.

Went to their authorized workshop and report to DA.

Then that workshop file claim against taxi insurance for the repairs.

DA sent a investigator down to the workshop to check the damage. No problem so far.

Mine even got a LTA approved exhaust.

DA just sent me a email for survey on the claim service.

Am I glad I didn't take Aviva that time.

i m on Aviva and unfortunably rear-ended another car. I did not know that must make report immediately but called their hotline and they were very nice and send someone 2 days later to write report and take photo for me. No bad experience with them at all........plus my car is modded. dont understand what happen that trigger Aviva to void the insurance of this car??????

past insurer which i used before and highly recommended includes AXA and AIG..........no ntuc for me ever

You got rear-ended, you claimed from the faulty party's insurance.

The Verna got hit by JB car, which is usually self-claim becuz of the lousy & 3 billion KM red-tape / ping-pong paper work in Malaysia.. but Aviva told him to F himself becuz his car "modded" with LTA allowed mods.

Thats life bro.

Ty hv the law on their side as ty covered with black n white. Its only if ty want to earn more goodwill n reputation in the market so more pple wil buy from them.

If their biz already too good or ty pay out too many claims already, ty wil find a way to siam paying.

maybe too many ppl switch to them due to cheap cheap, some more online, anybody can buy easily.

i guess now they are facing tons of claims, not making $$$$, so must be more stringent.

there is always a cycle for car insurance coy, each taking their turns to be the cheapest or expensive....

e.g. this year A coy cheap, many sales, many claims, so next year not cheap, than no business, then following year sell cheap again.

It's all about hitting their risk "quota".
