Limiter Neutral Newbie August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 Hi bros, i receive a letter from TP telling me to go to any NPP to lodge a report regarding my car accident. Previously got into a 3 car chain accident almost a month back and i was the 3rd car. The 2nd car driver whom i bang was fine and well, went for medical consultation and claims to be injured and was given 3 days mc. He had a elderly and small kid in the back but only he was injured and the rest are all fine as the letter only emphasize that he was injured. The letter stated the above details. My friends are speculating that he is trying to increase his chance of claims or whatsoever reason. I am wondering if i will get demerit point due to this issue. Any bro to give some valuable advise? ↡ Advertisement
Dafansu Turbocharged August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 Yes, most likely under careless driving
Limiter Neutral Newbie August 14, 2011 Author Share August 14, 2011 I do have 3 passengers in my car during the accident and can prove as witness that he claims he is perfectly fine. It was a very mild bang at low speed. But again, his family can also testify for him and i feel that i am still on the losing end. Just hoping to get away with demerit points. Stinkray Clutched August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 If I'm not wrong, passengers in his or your car cannot be witness leh
Unfair 3rd Gear August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 GG, he sure inflate the insurance claims. On your side just prepare to pay the excess for your insurance if any. Likely charged for dangerous driving, sure demerit pts.
Thedream 3rd Gear August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 u sure it's not the 1st car that is now claiming against you?
Silver_blade Turbocharged August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 I do have 3 passengers in my car during the accident and can prove as witness that he claims he is perfectly fine.... Sometimes, injury may not be apparent immediately eg. whiplash, etc or he was in a state of shock. Of course he could be faking it. But it will be difficult to prove. Limiter Neutral Newbie August 14, 2011 Author Share August 14, 2011 If let says i got a demerit for banging his rear, then he might also get demerit for hitting the front. His front damage is obviously more sever then the rear. The actual case is he hit the 1st car before i hit him.

Watwheels Supersonic August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 It's "SOP" in any traffic accident that anyone is injured, a police report has to be made. It's not about claims and stuff.
Cable Neutral Newbie August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 If there is injury, must lodge police report right? TS, did you make any report before this?
Limiter Neutral Newbie August 14, 2011 Author Share August 14, 2011 No report was made as there was no injury among all of us. A patrol car did stop by to check for injury, but left shortly after confirming everyone was unhurt.

Genes 6th Gear August 14, 2011 Share August 14, 2011 I think he is just trying to deflect some of his culpability in the accident to you so the first car won't whack him only..
Limiter Neutral Newbie August 14, 2011 Author Share August 14, 2011 I also feel that he is trying to shirk some culpability. Right now my main concern is if demerit point will be imposed on me.
