Actually, any $x amount also no use, cuz smrt is not a family, or a sole proprietor. It is just a company where it earns its money from commuters.

 

As such, even if LTA or court implement a sky high amount, the logic behind is as low as a pre-school kid.

 

There should be a better penalty, e.g. no bonus for the execo, or higher management fork out a certain percentage of their income to foot the bills. Using money alone is also useless, maybe get the higher management go for some guard duty, yeah, prowl the area during noon time for two hours, wearing helmet, 24 extras, blah, blah blah.

Commuters pay the fine indirectly through raised fares later. LTA penalised commuters by imposing fine on SMRT. SMRT should impose fine on LTA instead.

top management pay should be pledge to service level(60%) and profit(40%)...the problem here is that all work for money and yet we didn't want to admit the fact of life...the solution can be as simple as you hit the service level and profit...u get a million...if not you get nothing...most would not dare to try....because they know they aren't going to get anything....but i am sure whoever take up the role probably have the confidence and will do his best...else it does not make sense for him or her to play around for a year without getting a single cents and get remove after that...
