The recent new B&B Jap cars, such as Nissan Almera, Honda Civic are disappointing. Not worth it.

Rather get a new Elantra

Saw many elantra on the road, despite high COE. [rolleyes]

In terms of choices, I guess each of the three cars have their own perks.

Forte is the least expensive amongst the three, Cruze is the safest(n Heaviest) and Elantra is the newest Design(best Look)

so depending on what factors are important to you, its not hard to rank them on paper. But i feel test driving the car is the most important part of choosing.

I personally tested all the three models in the same day (had to head down both Leng Kee and Ubi).

Cruze was initially my first choice. but having tested the LS PEPs version(122hpp), I must say the actual power of the engine generated(not paper values) is not enough to propel the car forward as intended. i had to rev pretty hard to get it to pick up decently (which is honestly what u need to do frequently driving in Spore). if i were to rev this hard in my day to day drive, FC will be a pretty big prob. Drive is stable and makes you feel safe, but lack of power will leave you thinking twice about overtaking or changing lanes.

went for Elantra next, had to say the drive was smooth and engine was powerful enough to push the car forward at reasonably low rev(2500). probably the only downside in driving is the lack of direct throttle feel. Also, even the Elite Sunroof model doesn't come with a touch screen Navi and console built in, which is a real disappointment considering thats almost the standard option for all makes.

Lastly, went to test out the Forte. the engine is pretty powerful off the start line, thou a bit loud, but still ok since conversations are audible(not so in the cruze). all was well till l hit the straight road in the test route. rev up the engine and instantly felt like the car was floating. not sure if other bros who drove this car before has the similar feeling. felt so disconnected to the road. thou forte had almost all the features priced into an attractive package, it felt too unsafe to be a consideration at all.

thus, Just went back immediately to Komoco and ordered an Elantra.

Just my 2 cents worth:)

Don't waste time la , given current prices , all the fellows here talking about which kr car better won't be able to afford a new one or won't bother since at current coe prices buying a kr make doesn't make sense.

So why waste time discussing? I have yet to see a SKD forte neither a cruze , a new elantra yes. I still see SKD altis and civics running around so i guess we have the answer.

Drive a chevy like a jitpoon car... your FC will suffer.

Chevy cars are meant to be wack. only then you will get good FC.

In any case, most chevy owner will tell you wack and no wack, FC is more or less the same, so just wack.

Also Forte design is now quite outdated - nice when it first came out.

I got a SKD cruze LS PEPS too :)

Jiak you I think still ok ba~ 11 minimum loh. But for safe heavy car for my family is worth it la.

Some stupid bus banged my car and only had scratches, no dents. Is really quite impressive.

I rarely hear comments on the functions, so maybe I can share with you guys.

- hands free phone call is very very clear. Never have to shout into the air. can hear my friends very clearly too

- USB detection for photos, movies, music is very good too. No problems on those

- my friends say car suspension is great. Do not feel bumpy roads.

- noise insulation is great too :) quiet rides that makes ppl fall asleep easily in my car

- car boot size is seriously quite big.

Overall the car is not as bad as what ppl have been saying about Chevy cars la. cruze ls models have definitely set a new level. :) bad comments are for the old Chevy models like Aveo la etc (aircon problems etc) hope this sharing helps those who have budget constraints to buy the expensive elantra. I think forte and cruze quite worth it la.

Think forte launched here in 2009, this car barely 3 years old and people find the design outdated liao? [:/] Wonder will elantra also face the same thing when the car is in the market for 3 years? Although seems like elantra is quite a popular car now, and can see many elantra registered ever now and then.

I think u might have cataract.

Yeah , i probably have that , so ? I am not sure man , stats show everything.

http://www.lta.gov.sg/content/dam/lta/Corp...20by%20make.pdf

With chevy selling lesser than 50 on avg , got people can tell me he can see versus 300+ sold for toyota ? ya i have cataract but it sure beat fools with no ability to change their car despite all this unwavering support for it. I guess you attended minds when you were younger, are you classmates with heartbreakid? or was it pathlight?

Talk is cheap infact it is free. Talk more useless , i will probably listen to them when u show capability to buy them. Give me i rather buy a conti than a Kr car given current coe prices.

I have a SKD cruze LS.

FC is around 10+ to 11. Best is 11.2km/l

Calculated manually using odometer and litres pumped.

And yes, for chevy juz whack the pedal.

i usually rev to 3.5 when picking up.
