I was just placed the order to Elantra Elite this morning.

I tested Kia Forte and Elantra eventually I taken up Elantra Elite .

1) Feeling ~~

2) Exterior and Interior design Elantra much better.

3) Performance wise Elantra earned my heart.

Simple ~~~

Another point worth noting about the battle between the Elantra & Forte is that Hyundai has a significant stake in Kia.

In other words, much of the technology developed for Hyundais goes into Kias vice-versa. That is why feature wise, they are extremely similar.

I would go for the Elantra given Hyundai's better reliability ratings.

Supercharged

U still can find 2nd hand cars cheaply. I being looking at 2nd hand cars lately and forte is in my radar screen.

If u can get 2010 cars, which is only 1 year old, u can save at least $10k or more from the price..... Look harder for good deals.

How much is a new forte now?

Why not get an 09 Cruze then? For this kind of depreciation you can easily get a used Conti car.

Am amazed at people who still having these choices. At 100+k, we can easily have a second hand conti with the same depreciation.

Even Toyota or Honda cost about the same price. I would say i am honda biased but i am pretty sure a Toyota allion cost about the same and FC and comfort wise won't lose to those 3 selections. Have friends driving allion and their FC are in the range of 16 on average

Reliability for made in jap cars is definitely much better , i have yet to see a KR car drive 1million miles , if you compare the paint work on a 2008 allion vs a 2008 forte , you will see how the color "fades". For Kr vs Jap. Of course you are free to shoot me , i just stating my personal observations. My views are biased but i find it stupid to buy a KR car at 100k when i can buy a rather new 2nd hand conti at almost similar prices.

Maybe the futuristic design that the Korean makers are coming out lately is gaining their appeal on the consumers. We cannot doubt that Hyundai are making vast improvements these days.

Look nice now , if the looks cannot last what is the point , especially given COE is at this price , i probably would be looking for something that would last me 10 years and color doesn't fade just as fast.

Haha never for me too. I think people who buy chevrolet cars wont buy them back after selling. Aveos are the one the black sheeps in the Chevrolet lines especially the Aveo5.

Well not many things are made to last in this era. I am also looking at reliablility when i choose cars but some people might not think so. So its kinda people different with different perspectives. I have a friend whose Nissan latio white in colour turning beige after 2-3 years i think.

If your friend is lazy to maintain a white car, a Lexus white would also turn beige may be not in 3 years but in 5 years. White cars need special treatment and they are not for lazy kids!

No la. He is right GM parts really have premature failure issues like tensioner idler, gear shift solenoid etc.
