Why can't they put signs up stating "Tree Branches/ Trunks may fall. Take Care".

They do this for nature trails in the parks what.

Imagine all the open carparks with trees in S'pore hv this sign.... :o

Anyone rem the young engineer who got killed not too long ago when his car was crushed by a fallen tree at Thomson?

IIRC no compensation was offered by the authorities & the family eventually dropped the suit against NParks.

Not sure if anyone including his insurance company paid anything to his family.

But they explain it's due to strong wind, and not due to negligent..

But this case, got witness say there's no wind. The tree just uproot(rot?).

If comprehensive insurance can claim self accidents, then just drive the car and go around banging taxis, or crash into a tree and claim from insurance loh.

What's the point of buying insurance if cannot claim?

If insurance claim its act of god and act bluff.......then still got one more option.

If all else fail...very simple....drive to JB.....and leave the keys in the car...and then claim stolen.

At least can claim from the insurance for the market value.

KNS wait they charge you for cheating then you know .

Guess 'act of god' means damage caused by natural phenomena that humans cannot control. Disasters like floods, earthquake, typhoons etc...which are a consequence of atmospheric anomalies, or preturbations in the earth's crust caused by plate tectonics.

Now if this lady can prove that the tree wasn't planted properly, or if it wasn't checked periodically for it's condition. Perhaps she may have a case...

Can we request to NEA to remove all trees at the HDB open carparks ?

Usually carparks with trees are non hotspots. Drivers dun like to park under the trees with the following reasons:

1. Attract birds to **** on the car

2. Trees produce sticky sap which make the cars difficult to wash away

3. Tree drops leaves esp those small leaf to dirty the car windscreens

4. Trees fall like this incident

5. Mango Trees drop mango dented my car roof :(

What if it happens the other way? If driver crash the car into the tree and the tree fell? I think NEA will come after her...

But when NEA's tree crash into your car...they say act of god.. [laugh]
