before finding out that shell vpower suits best for my car with increased mileage and performance

 

Usually people use 5 full tanks for any comparisons as your driving habits/conditions differs daily.

after 2 weeks of spc 95 and 98, i switch back to esso. Not sure why but my car seems to be powerless with spc but with esso its amazing. I dunno abt fc and stuff but i travel ard 50 - 80km a day average.

Sluggish can have a lot of reasons other than petrol.

 

What I had meant was, all the base fuel is the same irregardless which brand you pump. How many pumps had you tried or just once? Have you compared with the brand of petrol your car is using in the country of manufacture?

 

My car did feel sluggish when I switched from Cow to SPC, but after 2 pumps, everything is back to normal, it could also be your car adjusting to the new fuel that has a different composition of addictives.

Another occasion after I changed my close to 2 year old battery, the car was smoother.

 

I tried all brands of petrol for my car, none makes a difference, even from 95 downgrade to 92. Miliage and power wise is still the same.

So now, it's my wallet that counts even though I have petrol allowances.

Might as well support the cheaper brand so that it can continue to substain offering cheaper petrol for all.

if tomorrow esso charges their 95 at 98 price, after a few months people will come into these forums and declare that esso 95 is better than caltex's 98

thats why vpower is so good and spc is the lousiest!

if thats the case, can tell me why my car feels sluggish with SPC 98 (levo and non levo) compared to esso 98?

that is why I'm don't understand why so many drivers are still taken in that brand of petrol will harm their cars.

This just a way of marketing the fuel by these cartels. I bet the chemist back at the labs are laughing their heads off.

I believe another reason is - "My friends pump xxx. They say xxx is good, so they just blindly follow.

 

Let's take Civic for example, which is the most popular favourite brand people pump here?

Back in Japan, do the Japs also pump this brand or some other brands?

And if the car is stock, why is the car so special need this brand to feel the power while other owners can pump other brands and still move without complaining?

The cartels here actually fear that people will flock to a particular brands, hence create the impression that their fuel makes a difference.

 

So long as you don't pump diseal into a petrol engine, all brands of fuel can be used as long as it meets the min RON for the car.

Hi, anyone using SPC levo encountered problem accelerating or engine stalling recently?.. switched from shell to spc since 2mths ago and notice engine no power when accelerate and even stall on a couple of occasions .. brought to workshop and have to change fuel filter without explanation on cause.. just wondering if it is fuel becos of the petrol?..

Just pump levo 92 into my civic yesterday which suppose to have 95ron lowest but the car still perform like crazy, bcos cheep and near my house mah. Earlier din know my ride min. ron was 95 but already used many tanks of 92 but till date, no side effects or sign of deteriorating performance. I will normally fill up with cowtech95.

 

My favouruite brand when in My is petronas.

How old is your car?

Engine stalling can be a lot of reasons, maybe faulty O2 sensor?

 

I'm on 92 for close to 5 years for my both Jap cars, can't even feel any power loss.

If your mechanic changed the fuel filter and you suspect that is the cause, most probably your fuel filter is choked, It does not mean that 92 fuel is dirty.

Did you pump petrol when the refuelling tanker is refuelling the station or immediately after it left? When these tankers refuel the station, it kicks up a lot of dirt in the underground tanks and all these gets into your fuel when they are still not settled down.

Car's abt 3+ yrs.. did change fuel filter last year.. that's why a bit puzzled why filter choked so fast. I din really notice whether tanker was refueling when I'm topping up petrol.. but that explanation makes sense too..

Not sure if this has been ask before.

 

Is it ok to switch between petrol brand constantly? Anything that I should take note of (eg pump the new brand only when the tank is near empty etc)? Still trying to see if there is any significant difference between the few brands available to us.

 

Also is it advisable to stick to a certain grade of petrol constantly? Is it okay to mix pumping different grade without any problem as long it fell within the car drinkable range? The car manual only states that it can drink 91-98 RON and sales person recommended anything above 93 RON. With the mixture of results I am also trying out different grade.

 

But well, I don't expect that I could actually feel any differences cos I am really new to driving but my curiosity beats me to that.

as I have shares in both.

 

Also only use same
