Looks like A380-800 fitted with the Rolls Royce Trent 900 Series engines have a lot of problems while A380-800 fitted with GE engines no problem......drop in Rolls Royce Standard?

It's not the A380 have problem. It's the engine lah.

Well, ever since Qantas sub-out their servicing for flights out of their home country, Australia, to SIAEC, problems have been arising.

I'm not saying anything thing here.

Let the facts speak for themselves.

SIA is using Rolls Royce Trent 900 , and SIA A380 have problems before..

SINGAPORE AIRLINES DISCOVER LEAKS on 5 A380

[:)]

They should have opt for the Engine Alliance GP7000, which is owned by GE *50%* and Pratt and Whitney *50%*, that engine till now no problem

The issue has nothing to do with SIAEC. Do you see SIA A380 having significant problems reported?

The blow out of the A380 1 year ago is partly due to the engines are rated differently as the QANTAS A380 have to do a longer flight from Sydney to USA, with heavier fuel load for the longer distance flight, the engines have to be rated higher for more power during take off. If QANTAS use the same power settings as SQ, the will have to fly with much fewer passengers from LA to Sydney. The higher power rating creates potential problems and Rolls Royce has identified this to be a design flaw. It has nothing got to do with Maintenance

Engine problem happens now and then, but Australia press have been quick to highlight Qantas issues and blame Asian Maintenance so that union has more bargaining power against Qantas management regarding moving jobs to Asia.

I flew in A380 3 times so far. 1st 2 times, return trip to HK. 3rd time SIN-MELBOURNE (return flight by B777-300ER)

A380 is damn quiet and stable in flight. Even during take off and landing, the vibrations is alot lesser than the B777.

Another mishap but luckily no fatalities.

Anyone remember US Airways Flight 1549 incident almost 3 years back?

It was a Airbus A320 landing on the Hudson River after it kena birdstrike on its engines.

No one died as a result although there were some injuries sustained amongst the passengers.

Here is an animated video of how the whole incident happened:

And a still shot of the "water fowl":

A380 quiet and stable? I dont find any difference flying in A380 and other flight le?! Only difference is if you sit in upper deck in A380, the flight crew serve you very fast, and also you board and exit flight faster, cause lesser people. [:p]
